Spa healing is so established in French culture that it is often included in medical insurance. Its popularity is declining, but it is still quite fashionable among older generations. This hotel caters to those people, but it offers good pricing to others out of season. The appartments include a small kitchen. Staff is efficient but keeps a distance. The complex has a good Wifi system, boasts an outdoor swimming pool, plentiful invalid parking, medical services and a shuttle bus to the nearby town of Cambo-les-bains, where you can shop and have your shopping delivered to the hotel. Keep in mind the hotel aims at relaxation. There is very little to do in the complex and in Cambo itself, especially for young people and children.
The hotel's architecture is most interesting, 19th century with "oriental" touches as fashionable about 150 years ago, including a "Chinese" pagoda. Something like Brighton pavilion for the French upper middle class. The complex is very well maintained. That also goes for the large riverside garden enjoying a micro-climate where banana trees flourish and produce fruit.More
