The hotel has a spectacular location overlooking the valley. It is an enjoyable 90 minute walk from St. Luc. If you enjoy history, you will like the fascinating old building but if you prefer modern luxuries, this is probably not a place for you. The rooms are comfortable although small but showers and toilets are shared and very basic (bring your own shampoos - there is no amenities in this hotel). From this aspect, the price seems rather high. Dinner was included and on our visit was cooked and served by ex-Raffles Cambodia staff. This was a first-class experience, one of the best meals experienced in Switzerland with exceptionally attentive and accommodating service. Overall, the place is definitely worth a visit but with the expectation that you will go back in time - including the provisions.
