A nice size and arrangement of cottage for my wife and I, for a week of reasonably good weather. The cottage is set back into the corner of the plot, with a large area of lawn in front and rising ground at the rear corner that forms an embankment to the railway. Trains run at all times of the day and night and race past at speed for a second or two, above roof level. The trains make little noise, just a rush of air and a slight rumble and generally go unnoticed unless you are very sensitive to them? The facilities provided are comfortable and well arranged, with very private parking and very quiet. The property is well positioned for access to many areas of the coast and New Forest and we had a lovely stay.

The cottage is small and cosy with everything you require for a wonderful holiday. From the sofas to the bed all extremely comfortable. You are near the beaches and the Forest. I definitely would stay here again.

“Well positioned for coastal walks and New Forest.”

A cosy cottage at the foot of a railway embankment! We knew we would be next to a railway line but didn't expect to see the trains above roof level. The noise didn't affect us at all - although our budgies did get a fright when they heard their first train! It was lovely to be able to bring them as well, made us feel at home. We weren't blessed with good weather but did manage some walks by the sea - various places within easy driving distance. The lovely New Forest is also practically on the doorstep. The cottage has a large garden which I would imagine would be lovely to sit out in in sunny weather. The settees were very comfy - so much so afternoon naps became the norm. The bed was too soft and bouncy for our liking but would probably suit others; the kind of bed you like is a very personal thing. The cottage was nice and warm and hot water plentiful and instant. We did have to buy a few things though that we felt were missing - we didn't like to put hot plates directly onto the table so purchased a couple of table mats. Also the drinking glasses were enormous so we got some tumblers for our morning juice and evening G&T's. There was no serving spoon to dish out our meals so we also bought a large slotted spoon. Hopefully future guests will appreciate these as well. We appreciated the welcome goodies basket, especially the packet of Hobnobs! Nice to have Wifi available but the internet speed is very slow compared to what we have at home on the Sussex coast so you have to be patient waiting for a connection. It would have been nice to have had some information on what is accepted in the recycling bin, we weren't sure what was acceptable or not. We can put some items in our home recycling bin that friends in other areas of the country can't (eg tin foil) so as there is some disparity around the country regarding what can/can't be included, recycling info would have been useful. All in all (small niggles aside) we did enjoy our stay here and would consider booking again.
