Got back yesterday from our second stay in less than a year at Smythen Farm cottages. First visit in half term October 2014 was great and lovely enough that we wanted to come back for a summer holiday. Well, what can I say the facilities that were good anyway have been substantially improved, the new pool house and games room mean that rainy days need no longer be a costly problem as there is now always something you can do to entertain the small ones. Situated within 20 minutes of some beautiful beaches and scenery couldn't ask for more. Cottages fantastically clean and all have useful stuff like. T-towels, washing up liquid, washing powder etc, just brilliant.

We have just returned from Smythen Farm Holiday Cottages and can fully recommend them. We stayed in Primrose Lane Cottage, which is a lovely little cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean. We are a family of 3 and also have a little Dachshund; the fully enclosed open area meant we could relax knowing our dog would not get out. The owners and their children were really friendly and very helpful and to hand if you need anything, all the while being respectful of our privacy. The facilities on site were great, an indoor pool with hot tub, which is also very well kept. There is also a games room, with pool table, table tennis and football table, all fab for rainy day entertainment. Also outdoor play areas and lovely animals. My son made friends easily with other children from the other cottages, which meant we had more time to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. It is a very child friendly place to stay and also offers older children a little independence, being away from busy roads. Smythen farm is also centrally located to all the beaches and places of interest within North Devon, but far away enough to have that "away from it all" feeling. We have returned relaxed and refreshed and hope to return someday. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, thank you!

On arriving to our cottage I couldn't believe the high standard of cleanliness. The views are beautiful set in the valley and the sea can be seen and admired. The cottages are run by a very friendly family, who are always on hand. It was a very relaxing and stress free environment at excellent Value for a 5 Star establishment

We've just returned from a fantastic week at Smythen Farm Holiday Cottages. The cottage we stayed in was called Sea View, and the view was stunning. Amazing to wake up to each morning. The cottage was a good size, very clean and well equipped. Great location as long as you have a car, about 15-20 minutes from some beautiful beaches. The pool and games room are clean and well equipped, the pool is kept at a warm temperature and so on rainy days it was great for the kids. Couldn't have asked for anything more, apart from sunshine! Already looking at dates for a return visit in 2016.

We've just come back from a week at Smythen Farm. We stayed in Primrose Lane cottage, it was just lovely! The cottages are in a great location, we had a beautiful view of the countryside and the sea. They were well equipped, the owners made us and our two dogs feel really welcome and the area offers lots to do.
