We stayed there as a one time experience in traditional Japanese Ryokan during a group tour in Japan. Our guide explained in detail what the house rules are (e.g. what kind of shoes to wear (or not to wear) at certain places, how to wear the yokata etc). So unless you know what you're up to don't go to these kind of places.
Even after knowing what to expect I was not pleased with my stay, starting with the rocky access path which is not suitable for moving suitcases on wheels. Next the room has traditional Japanese furniture meaning tatami floor, a futon mattress without a bed, a low table without chairs. Although the room is spacious it is almost empty and uncomfortable (well maybe Japanese people will find it comfortable...).
Behind the room I found another sitting area equally useless with another low table without chairs, and a low chest that can be used only by sitting on the floor.
On the plus side there is a safe in room, small TV (which I didn't use), a kettle with green tea kit, a bath (many ryokans lack baths because they rely on the house "Onsen"- a public bath, but this one has also a good private bath).
There is also a small fridge but it is filled with metal brackets for cans or bottles, so you can't put other things in it.
There is free wifi in lobby only.
I didn't go the the onsen, but some people in our group who went there complain that it is outside the main building and had to go twice through a dark and cold path.
We had a traditional Japanese dinner, they serve small dishes most of them not to my taste, so I remained half hungry after that dinner. Even if I ate everything it would be too little for a decent meal.
Also the breakfast was mediocre, less good that in all other hotels we had during the tour.

I was there for one night only with my group of 16 people, and the guy at the front desk (I'm not sure if he was the owner or just an employee, but he is probably in his 70s already) helped us bringing our luggage to our rooms (downstairs from the lobby, so no lift)
He is super helpful, and kept speaking Japanese to me though he must have known that I understood nothing.. Haha..
The room is actually very big. If we could use all the space, it could accommodate 4-6 people.. But maybe that's not allowed. It's tatami style.
This hotel has onsen too, so make sure you use it. My body felt a lot better after an hour bath in it..
We also had traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast set. Outstanding.

Room Tip: choose the rooms upstairs, not downstairs (it could be busy as people go to onsen)

We stayed one night with our extended family while riding at the near by White Saddle Ranch. All of the hotel staff were very courteous and friendly. They graciously accommodated our two and six year old daughters behavior. Both rooms were spacious and the six of us could easily have stayed in a single room. Fuji-san is in full view from the large balcony windows. The traditional Kaiseki style dinner was delicious with a generous number of dishes to fill even a large american. The indoor onsen bath was pleasant, the outdoor bath a bit cool for my liking. On the morning of our departure the hotel offered koi food to my daughter and provided a shuttle to take us to the near by Heidi's Village kids park. The hotel manager saw us off with the personal attention more expected of a small ryokan owner. Overall the service, meals, and spacious rooms more than make up for the older facilities.
