“A real get-away from urban lights and sounds!”
Reviewed 19 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We loved staying at the Blue House - I haven't seen the Milky Way so clearly for decades!. No light pollution, no noise pollution.. a beautiful, restful place. We kayaked with seals, and watched an eagle sit right in front of the house. And I can't say enough about the food - if you are a seafood lover, this is an awesome place - FRESH scallops, haddock and lobster. Day trips to nearby areas doable and quite rewarding - especially if you are into maritime history or old churches ( there are LOTS of them). Please don't visit without a camera!

“Peace and quiet surroundings with an ocean in the front yard”
Reviewed 28 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Too often a vacation is just seven days away from the office. It should be more. Our vacation at the blue house in Lion's head, Nova Scotia allowed us to renew ourselves, time to soak in the scenery, read, walk the beach, eat good food and return home to Virginia refreshed. The place and its remote surroundings will always find a pleasant spot in our memories.

Liked best: A clean house away from noise and in a picture perfect setting
Liked least: The weather. New Scotland's weather is similar to old Scotland. Plenty of mist which some call rain.
