Everything was wonderful and our every need was taken care of. The outdoor dining experiences are memorable - and if you are lucky there is also an evening fire fly display. Raj, the naturalist, has exceptional knowledge of all things wild. We even had hot water bottles and blankets for a chilly start to a safari. Thanks to Neville and all of the staff for a great stay.

Stayed at Shergarh for three nights and was very impressed with the accommodation in the tents. The service was excellent with Neville managing everything efficiently. The owner, Katie, is a beautiful host. The food is good and the naturalists very knowledgeable.

The manager Neville Turel was excellent. He came on a nature walk with us and was the perfect host. The food good though simple. They provide hot water bottles for your beds and for the safari vehicles. Our guide was Son Singh and he was good. There is no wifi/phone and no credit card facility. Laundry was good.

Everything about Shergarh is just great - the people, the food, the accommodation and the wonderful dining experience in the evening, outside, next to the lake. Neville looked after us extremely well and the whole experience was one of the highlights of our stay in India.

First off I was lucky enough to be at Shergarh when Katie and Jehan were there. What very special people they are whose warmth and care give the Kanha experience added dimension. Sure it’s about seeing tigers but it’s also about the people you meet.

They were so accommodating. I don’t like 8pm group dinners so was served a light dinner at my tent with full candlelight and excellent food.

Tents are part canvas and part permanent. They are vary spacious and comfortable. There’s a heater to take the chill off a cold snap and hot water bottles tucked into your bed.

I was lucky to have had the most incredible series of five thunder, lightning and hail storms the first night. The best of my life. I was curled up all cozy under my duvet watching the sound and light show through an open flap. Remarkable!
You need to be aware that it can get unseasonably cold unexpectedly so pack an extra base layer and down jacket. Also bring those wonderful single use hand warmers and gloves and over the ears hat. They help during the 20 minute open Jeep ride to the park

Altogether a wonderful experience that even included a tiger, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m not a tiger magnet. Other guests were seeing three and four a game drive. Always luck of the draw. Always exciting in anticipation.

Stayed: February 2018, travelled solo
