Its a must visit! Its an eco lodge, in tune with nature, comfortable and clean, has some amazing people looking after it, Tarun has excellent knowledge of the wildlife and flora and fauna, Vinod the other naturalist is a keen tracer, end result some amazing tiger sightings.
The food in the lodge is outstanding, homely, fresh and tasty. We are going to visit it annually, pretty blessed to have experienced this place.

This was out last stop in India, before returning home. This lodge, besides being absolutely pretty! PRETTY! PRETTY!, had the best hosts ( Dimple and Tarun) that made ever effort (and more) to ensure our stay with them was beyond the best! Cozy nights with hot water bottles, outstanding food experience. We dined in the woods, Dimple gave us a impromptu cooking class! During our stay we did 4 safaris and one visit to see the elephants bathing. We were lucky enough to see the 4 year old Bengal Tigeress once, crossing our path. The guilds and their skill to track the tiger was incredible, I learned so much during this adventure! What a amazing experience. If we ever return to India, we would absolutely visit again, but stay even longer to see more Tiger and get spoiled by the best hosts ever (and we truly appreciate the efforts made!) Safaris are addictive and the jungle here is breathtaking. Thank you to the entire staff, Guilds, Naturalist, Chef, and Host for the absolutely wonderful stay We hope to be back ****RECOMMEND!**** xoxox

Room Tip: there are 2 rooms that stand alone from the rest, but all of the rooms are wonderful

When you approach the resort, you immediately get the feeling of serenity. From the gate of the resort to the main area, you get a sense of going on a nature walk.. Tall trees and low lighting show you the path. The resort is very well done up with modern facilities, but somehow manages to blend in beautifully with the surroundings. The staff I feel are great spies and mind readers - they are always in the background and before you can make a request, they have read your mind and bring you what you want.

Dimple, Tarun and Jai are great hosts and have so much knowledge about the surroundings, animal sightings and are very very hospitable and friendly. The resort feels like an extension of your own home.

Vinod is a fabulous naturalist and guide and is always around to share interesting stories about the animals and the jungle zones.

The food at the resort is clean comfort food. On all the days we were there, not once was a dish repeated. Hot food, fresh tea and coffee, yummy evening snacks around the bon fire, hot soups to warm you up on cold nights... The list is endless!!

All in all, a great location, fantastic hosts, guides and staff and more than one reason to visit again.

I love wild-life photography and keep visiting many of the national parks in the county. My stay and overall experience at the Kanha Jungle lodge at Kanha (near Mukki gate) could be termed fabulous ! This is a small and cozy resort, run by a family who have been in the thick of wildlife for a long long time. Tarun and Dimple Bhati run this lodge and they have the taste that matches the wants of a discerning wild-life lover and an avid traveler. The resort itself is nestled naturally in thick vegetation, very rustic and charming. Rooms are done up again with rustic charm, but very comfortable, maintained spic & span, has every modern amenity required for a comfortable stay (barring a TV which I think is anyway a nuisance in the jungle world). Food is a small but decent spread, but lip-smacking.....the menu changes every day to provide variety....very very good and well run kitchen. The fireplace sitting, the evening chatter, spread of books and magazines on wild life, the antique decor.......everything adds to the charm of this beautifully managed property. The staff are very courteous and helpful...they do not intrude...and manage their work in a discreet and professional manner. Almost all of the staff are locals....they have been trained very well...
The resort itself is a beautiful ecosystem where a variety of birds and butterflies visit....spending time in the resort itself provides you a door to a variety of insects and birds......Tarun and Dimple have a vast knowledge of the wildlife there.....and you can get a wealth of information from them during the regular chit chat.. Akshay ... who has joined them recently as a budding naturalist, is very enthusiastic and helpful....always keen to accompany you and provide you information, whether you are on nature walks by the Banjar river, or observing butterflies or birds.... and very hospitable.
Vinay and Vinod are the in-house guides / naturalists and they drive you around in the National Parks as well. They are not only very knowledgeable, but make a ton of effort to see that you get your sightings and in the best possible way.
The resort's safari vehicles, the hot- water bags and blankets in the cold cold morning, the packed breakfast, the punctuality maintained for the safaris, everything was top-notch, and with a personal touch, this elevated the safari experience to a different level, that is what we wild-lifer's want as an experience.
I would not forget to mention Manisha from their head-office in Delhi, she has been so very helpful in the entire reservation process to arranging transport for me....it was so easy to get things organized before the trip, with her help.
The only one negative - since mobile connectivity is very poor, something needs to be done for a better Wi-Fi in the resort (I understand the limitations, but something needs to be done for this) as it is difficult to remain completely disconnected.
Airtel does not work at all, for me the BSNL connection worked (only voice), heard that Idea and vodafone work to some extent (mostly voice).

To sum it up, this was tremendous hospitality.....every single person involved......I would recommend this property to anyone going to Kanha (particularly the ones who are serious about their wild-life experience). Needless to mention, I would go back again in the near future.

Room Tip: In the winters you do not need a AC room, but in the summers definitely choose one, otherwise all rooms are very pleasant to stay.

One of our favorite stays on our whole India trip. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer (we only stayed two nights). Tarun and Dimple were great hosts. The food there are some of Dimple's family recipes and soooo delicious. When my husband said he liked tandoori, she even made a special tandoori lunch for us on our last day.
We went on three safaris (two morning and one evening) and were fortunate enough to have two tiger sightings mostly due to the diligence of our guide that the lodge assigned to us. He was able to guess where the tigers would appear based on the movements of other cars and the warning calls of other animals. So happy with our stay, we would love to come back one day.
