We are regular visitors to the area. We decided to drop in for a drink on the way home from a windy & wild beach walk to check out the place. We were really impressed. Lovely warm welcome for us and our 2 children. Bar was so comfortable and cosy. Lovely location between Clifden & Ballyconneely and close to some of the most beautiful beaches. While we didn't stay overnight, accommodation looks very smart with a lovely childrens room for their entertainment. We called again another day and received the same reception. On our last night, we booked in for dinner. It was the first night back after the Winter break for the restaurant on Good Friday. Nice menu, food was delicious & reasonably well priced. Good childrens menu too. Live music in the bar afterwards made for a really lovely evening. We recommend this hotel without hesitation and look forward to our return!

My wife and I, along with our two young sons, stayed here for a night last weekend. We know the area very well but were unfamiliar with the Hotel (it's only built just over a year), so we had no expectations. Located less than a mile from Ballyconneely, just off the Clifden road, it is beautifully secluded and even boasts it's own private beach to the rear of the property (lovely, safe beach!). On arrival we were greeted by the Hotel manager, Niall, who had a fantastic family suite waiting for us. We couldn't have been more impressed with the accommodation, which also has a rear exit door onto a decking area and some breathtaking coastal views! The Hotel is very tastefully decorated, has a boutique feel to it. For the children, there is a brilliant games room (over two floors), they could spend hours there, especially if the weather isn't favourable. The bar was well stocked and very inviting, for research purposes we tried the Guinness and it was excellent! We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the freshness, quality and selection of the food on the menu was simply superb! The chowder and seafood were so fresh, we were just disappointed to be only staying/dining the one night! Niall, together with his staff, run a really efficient, professional and friendly business that after only a short time makes you feel like your simply home from home! I couldn't recommend staying here highly enough and we will be back (our children are planning the next visit!).

Stayed in self catering 2 bed townhouse. Facilities were clean and comfortable. A sweeping brush be a useful addition if staying for a few days. Main issue was no phone reception, no wifi and no in house phone. I was staying with 2 and 1 year old so having a means of communicating and requesting help if needed was important. Wifi available in the hotel itself but weak or no connection across the car park. Aside from this I have to say hotel is lovely, staff very friendly and accommodating. Great scenery if you get blessed with some good weather.

Dear deedeecrush,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on the holiday homes and hotel. We are delighted you enjoyed the hotel and our friendly staff. Thank you for bringing to our attention the issues you experienced as it is only through guest feedback that we can improve our services at the resort.I note your issues with the Wifi, we provide free Wifi in the hotel and are currently looking at the option of providing Wifi in the holiday homes. The phone reception is out of our control. We provide hovers in all our holiday homes, however I will look at providing sweeping brushes also.

I hope I get the chance to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future.

We recently spent three nights in the Connemara Sands with our 2 kids (7 & 5) and had a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived we were made feel very welcome, made all the more pleasant by the warm reception from Niall, Bridget & the rest of the staff. Apart from the excellent food & the comfortable accommodation (perfect for family with kids) it's a great place to stay for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life! Will definitely be back again.

We booked a last minute two-night stay for ourselves and our two girls (8yrs & 11yrs) over the St Patrick's Day holiday. Our experience was top class from start to finish - the lovely staff, the perfect family suite, the stunning location and the gorgeous food.

We had breakfast and dinner on both days - our food was delicious every time, and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

The hotel is very welcoming and comfortable, the bar is tastefully decorated in jewel colours and has lovely views - it's a great place to dine and drink or just relax and unwind, and the family suite is an ideal setup of two bedrooms and a separate living/dining area. Our room was on the ground floor and had access to the deck with outdoor furniture and the tennis courts, and from there you can take a short walk onto one of the beautiful beaches of Ballyconneely. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Connemara, with Clifden and Roundstone just a short drive away.

Niall Dalton, the manager, and all his staff made our stay very enjoyable and we look forward to returning again in the not too distant future!
