Eos Milos house was simply the most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed, and we travel quite a lot. It’s a very large, beautiful, tastefully decorated house in a contemporary Cycladic cubist style with an open floor plan. It feels huge when you step into it, and the views from the living room, dining room, and master bedroom were truly spectacular, a 180 degree panoramic view out to sea toward Kimolos island. The water is close enough that you could drop a rock in the water if you leaned over the back deck a little. The interior plan is open with a feeling of great spaciousness, and so beautiful you could just hang out inside for weeks and feel completely satisfied, except that the view and breeze from the large back deck is even better. It is all spanking clean and very fresh. The sand beach is just a few yards away, and it’s an easy 3 minute walk from the house to the restaurants in the pretty little village of Pollonia. Our host Ms. Petraki was lovely and incredibly helpful. One of our group became ill during the stay, and she not only arranged for the maid to come by to change the sheets, she also brought our friend some homemade chicken soup! We loved the location in Pollonia, too; it’s a tiny village but quite attractive, and has enough restaurants to have good choices while feeling completely untrammeled by tourism. It’s also the best location for access to the island’s most beautiful coastline on the north shore. We felt incredibly sad to leave after only 2 nights, and the delicious homemade lemon cake Ms. Petraki made for us as we left made it even more bittersweet. We wished that we could literally have stayed there for the entire spring and summer, e partly because the house was so beautiful and comfortable, and partly because Milos is the Greek island of our dreams, breathtakingly beautiful in all directions.
