We were over 2 hours late arriving (stuck on the tarmac at JFK), and the owner greeted us as soon as we arrived with "I've take the liberty of ordering you some dinner, because I thought you might be hungry!" Staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is plentiful, with good range of choices. Decor is stunning! Rooms are large, and air conditioning works very well. Will definitely stay here every time I return to Haiti.

Room tip: #17 -- faces the back of the hotel, so very quiet unless there is a late party in the dining room

My husband and I went to Haiti for a short stay in Haiti, and ended up falling in love with this hotel. We were just going to stay for one day, but ended up staying three days from June 30-July 2. Best stay ever. They have free full breakfast every morning. They have for a minimal fee, transportation to and from international airport in Port-Au-Prince. They can provide a rental car for also a minimal fee. For a country like Haiti, this hotel went far and beyond the norm to make our stay a memorable one. We will definitely go back. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the heart of Petionville but, without the hustle and bustle of the city. Security was no issue for us, staying at this hotel. We felt safe and thank the staff for the impeccable service we received from everyone. Thanks Allamanda! We shall be back soon again!

We walked everywhere we wanted to go from our hotel. We felt very secure in the hotel's location. The breakfast items are made to order and WONDERFUL. The shower head holder was broken, so we had to use the shower as a hand held-but the bathroom was very nice.

Dear Lauren,

Thank you for staying with us. Upon reading your message and as of this morning the item has been replaced.

Everything has to work, from AC, televisions to hot and cold water and the refrigerator, not to forget the internet of course.

Anything does not work, please inform the receptionist or our phone numbers 24/7.

Best regards,

Viviane

Comfortable air conditioned rooms with super friendly and accommodating staff who will help with whatever you need. The restaurant Aioli is an awesome massive space with loads of art and bites along with well deserved cocktails. The only thing missing to give this space 4 stars is a pool which in Haiti's weather is always welcome.

We recently took our 3rd trip to Haiti in our process of International adoption. This was our homecoming trip and our 10yo son was with us (vs. staying at the orphanage). We stayed at 3 establishments during our trip (Karibe, Decameron, Allamanda). The room at the Allamanda (#14) was, by far, the nicest. However, it is not the charm of the room that makes Allamanda such a gem. It is the true hospitality of Viviane, Donald, and their staff.

The restaurant is closed on Sundays (breakfast is still served), but we felt safe walking the streets around the establishment and there are many restaurants within walking distance (we went to the cafe at Caribbean Market). Then, Viviane and Donald took us to the Observatory for amazing views and fine dining. They were amazing hosts who take hospitality seriously. They arranged airport transportation for us early on our checkout day. Additionally, the staff dropped by our room the night before with some breakfast packed to-go.

We stayed 2 nights. We felt safe, the A/C kept us cool. Breakfast is included, and it is made to order (and quite delicious). Saturday night is set aside for salsa dancing in the restaurant, we were invited but passed. I will note that the music can get loud if you're room is near the restaurant. There is a terrace on the top floor open to all guests. The TVs work and include many US-based channels. The internet worked consistently as well and was fast (when compared to Haitian standards).

Should our travels return us to Haiti in the future, we will definitely consider a visit to the Allamanda.

Room tip: Every room is different and unique. Nothing cookie-cutter here.
