This was our first food experience in Milford when we stopped for a quick sandwich lunch on our day of arrival. We liked it enough to return once more for lunch and for dinner on the last evening of our break. The pub has a welcoming ‘buzz’ and is popular with locals and visitors alike, has a good selection of ales and a menu and specials boards with a range of food which in our experience was all well-prepared, tasty and nicely presented. At weekends it is certainly wise to book and the variety of tables and areas offer the opportunity to pre-select where you will sit. Service can be a bit slower at the busiest of times but we found the food worth the wait. We would definitely return when in the area. We also visited the sister pub, the Hare and Hounds at Sway and also had an enjoyable experience there.

We had dinner here one night. The menu is usual pub food, and the food tasted good. However our orders on both occasions were wrongly delivered. Mistakes happen, but to serve up a plate of meat (beef chilli) to a vegetarian instead of the veggie option was not appreciated! My first course was wrongly delivered too. This meant that I had to eat after others had finished. Not the best experience. Mistakes happen but the offhand way they were dealt with didn't endear the restaurant to us and we chose not to eat there again.

Limited open options in this small town on a Monday night. This inn was pretty standard type of pub set up but food was not up to scratch, to much melted cheese on everything, gooey and bland. Service was fine and facilities OK.

Popped in by chance for Saturday evening meal with dog in tow, got table in main bar area, dogs allowed only in wooden floor area which was fine, good choice of food on menu, very large portions, also daily specials. Food was ok, I had the chili con carne which was pretty basic, not strong flavour or spice, husband had sausage & mash which was nice bar for the odd smoky bacon mash combo, daughter had egg ham & chips which she said was very nice so overall a good experience, all staff seemed nice and friendly.

First time visiter to this pub and will definitely be returning! Plenty of parking and we hadn't booked a table and the staff found us one straight away. Really nice atmosphere in the pub and excellent staff. The food was lovely so nice! Massive portions and well priced very filling! Really good out door seating and kids play area. Really clean inside and staff quick to clean tables. Dog and child friendly. Highly recommend this pub. I attended with my wife and 2 young children.
