We stayed for 2 nights in September and enjoyed it so much we booked to come back for 3 nights on this visit.

The rooms are lovely and have everything you need, the showers are fab.

The food is amazing, I have an allergy to garlic which can be a nightmare to work around in some places, the staff here were so accommodating and amended some of the dishes slightly so I could enjoy a wide variety. Breakfast was delicious - all cooked to order and tasty.

Lastly - the staff, they are all so friendly and go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay/meal, genuinely just really nice people.

Even though this place is about 25 mins from Chester we wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we visit.

Look forward to staying again soon

When booking a table, we had to go for an earlier time than we would really have wanted, simply because it is so busy. I can understand why, as we were impressed with the food and service. The staff were attentive and informative (I think we served by Harriet ? who was a star)...one of our party always likes to ask for things not exactly on the menu, which they coped with admirably. The food was well prepared and good value - I think the bill was about £80 for four of us. Nice choice of cask ales.

Really nicely appointed and comfortable. Superb range of beers. Staff super friendly and efficient. Food, beautiful. Portions HUGE. I had the chicken wrapped in pancetta, simply stunning. This has quickly become our favourite pub.

Used to love coming here however the last couple of times the meal hasn't been as good as it used to be. The beef was tough and roast potatoes were hard. Ashame as this is a great place but will think twice before coming again.
