Having organised a late visit to Norfolk I booked at the hotel due to lack of vacancies elsewhere on the dates of my visit. It soon became clear why there were still vacancies here when everywhere else nearby seemed full.

My room was located at the back of the building. A reasonable size with a four poster and a couple of chairs and adjacent bathroom. The room smelt a tad on the damp side and cleaning left a lot to be desired with cobwebs hanging from many places. The decor was old and outdated - photo's on the walls were very poor washed out prints that had fallen lopsided in the frame. The radiator had obviously been a problem previously as there was an old container placed under the pipework to catch any leaks. The bed was reasonably comfortable, not brilliant but ok and I did manage to get some good sleep on each of the two nights I stayed.

The TV was at best very poor with reception obviously being an issue and only some stations viewable. It was located in the corner of the room in an alcove which made viewing from one the chairs nearly impossible.

The bathroom was just about ok, but had obviously seen better days, and like most other areas I saw, was long overdue some serious TLC.

As I was up and out early each day I didn't bother with breakfast.

When checking out I was asked "how much were you quoted?" and there was a lot of faffing about.

In reality I would not choose to stay here again, and would not recommend the hotel either. The whole place seems run down and there appears no enthusiasm in making anything better. Such a shame as it could (and should) be so much better.

Room tip: Pick another hotel if you really want to enjoy your visit to this wonderful part of the country.

We stayed here for 3 nights. We loved it a quaint hotel that reminds you of days gone by. Lovely staff wonderful breakfast all locally sourced. Would definitely stay here again. Very central to all the local towns and weybourne had its own steam train that runs between the towns.

They've clearly just given up on this place - indeed in a conversation with one of the owners when checking out he said that the place will probably be demolished and replaced with new housing when he sells up.
Ok it's cheap but even at £68 it's overpriced for the frankly awful room that I stayed in (thankfully for only a night)
The sheets were clean but that's about as complimentary as it gets. The room was musty, the carpet worn and dirty looking, the shower poor, a small wall mounted TV that could only be viewed by sitting on a grotty little sofa that belonged in a skip and worst of all a mattress that had certainly seen better days.
At least my room had a wifi connection which wasn't the case in all rooms.
Downstairs (having walked through grotty corridors and surveyed the damp looking walls) there's a quaint bar and some quirky rooms stuffed full of clutter. Breakfast also wasn't at all bad and was served by an extremely friendly lady.
My recommendation would be to avoid as the only decent thing about this place was that there was a good boozer serving tasty food within walking distance just down the road. There must be better alternatives even within this price bracket than this place.

Room tip: Book elsewhere

Stayed with friends to attend the annual 1940's railway gathering. The hotel is quaint and qwerty. The rooms are comfortable enough especially if you need somewhere to sleep, have breakfast and go out to explore. Staff are friendly and a well appointed bar. Breakfast was good quality. Have booked next year already.

The hotel needs a lot of money spent on it to make it worthy of being an hotel. It's damp & dirty. Stains everywhere on carpets, wallpaper peeling, curtains in old mildewry fabrics. Panes of broken glass held together with ' celotape' and the list goes on ....

Room tip: Pick a different hotel
