“As cute as a button and better equipped than Batman!!!!!!”

It really is as cute as a button. Its so small and tiny you could pick it up and put it in your pocket. Ideally placed in the center of the village on a few door away from the Rising Sun pub which has a dart board and Stella on draft (BOOM). The directions and access to the key were good from the owner. There is a TV DVD and stereo and most important of all it has WiFi. This is essential as there is no phone signal at all in Dent unless you are with Orange. There was tea , coffee and sugar there ( you will need to take milk though) and the kitchen is well stocked. The bathroom was very clean and again was well equipped. There is an electric fire in the lough, bathroom and on the landing so you can keep nice and warm on cold days. The sofa down stairs is actually a sofa bed which comes in handy if you want to take you child which we may do next year. There is a slight smell of wet dog in the lounge but this is to be expected for a cottage that allows dogs. Overall we were very impressed and would not hesitate to recommend this to other travelers. We certainly will be using it again and would much rather book this cottage than stay at local B&B's which is what we used to do.

“Lovely little cottage - perfect for a couple's getaway”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Just returned from a week staying in Penny Bank, an absolutely lovely little cottage, stocked with the essentials which was an unexpected bonus. The cottage was small as expected but perfect for a couple with a border collie. Lovely walks around the village and we also went further afield to the Lakes and to the south (Ingleton Falls).
As a base to explore this part of the country for the first time I cannot fault this little gem.
There are 2 café/restaurants that seem to open opposite each other which we used a couple of times to get takeaway breakfast baps which were lovely. Dent Stores sold most things that you could want - fresh bread, savouries, cakes, tinned goods, etc. We also bought their home cooked ham for sandwiches which is highly recommended! We also went to Sainsbury's in Penrith when we were over that way, plus there is Spar & a fish & chips in Sedbergh about 4 miles away.
We didn't use either of the Pubs so cannot comment upon them but they looked OK!

Liked best: Location was great
Liked least: Shower head needs replacing as it doesn't stay in position & is taped up. Some noise from vehicles going over cobbles outside but this is a farming community & they start early

“Lovely cottage in a stunning location.”
Reviewed 24 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We had a wonderful stay in this little cottage. It really does have everything you could possibly want for, a real home from home. My only regret is that one week wasn't long enough !!

“Perfect Yorkshire Dales getaway for two”
Reviewed 20 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We had a really good time staying in Penny Bank cottage in Dent. It is so well stocked and the position couldn't be better. It suited us perfectly and we hope to visit again, for a bit longer.
We found the walking trails and the mighty library of books and guides in the bedroom, a boon, we only wish we'd had time to do more walks. Next time.
