“Not bad at all”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2011

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was very comfortable and the en suit & shower were exceedingly good. Only complaint - no hook on which to hang dressing gown or wash bag. So only a 9/10 for that bit.

The comfortable lounge area of the restaurant was very well used by us as there were no comfy seats in the room. Not really a complaint as the room was probably too small to accommodate this. Mind you I did have to request they turned the radio over to some more appropriate music.

Food was welcoming and hot.

We were attending Brands Hatch and needed an early start on Saturday. Although normally serving breakfast from 8am, they were very obliging and did a 7.30 for us. This reflects the friendliness of all the staff at the Roebuck.

No ones fault but mine - I would stay there again but it was a tad too far from Brands for us to use it again next year.

Hi, this is a lovely place with a great pub underneath. it was one of the best nights sleep I have had although the bed squeaked a little when you turned over! I was a little disappointed that the pub shut at 11.00 on a Saturday night but hey ho, lovely cheap little place to stay. The only critique I would give it is that it needs a few finishing touches. The rooms are lovely but it misses the lttle things such as no biscuits with the tea and coffee facilities, no bin in the bathroom (not good for ladies problems!) etc but would still stay there again. Breakfast was good too.

Once again a fabulous stay at The Roebuck, we enjoyed exceptional Food and were then entertained by a DJ who I believe was a Guest at the Hotel, it was a 50th Birthday gathering and everyone was in great spirits. Last time we stayed Tom and Jackie had just taken over, so so glad to see them doing so well, the atmosphere is brilliant. The rooms are very good value for money.I just love the fact that we come down for Breakfast (the best Sausages ever), and everyone is talking and laughing together about the previous evening, we are made to feel so at Home here. There is another Dinner & Dance on the 8th of Oct. we will definately be attending.I have to say I'm not too sure what time we retired but honestly slept like a Baby no noise interference but then we had been busy enjoying ourselves all evening and were worn out.

This was not the worst night's sleep we have ever had but the 2nd (the worst was when we had overnight construction work involving drilling/cement machines). To summarise:

9.45pm Loud Music starts up in the Bar
1.10am Loud Music is still continuing so go down to Bar to ask when will stop and told that they are having a private party but will turn the music down soon.
1.25am Phone emergency number - no response
1.25am Music turned down
2.20am Music turned off
2.35am Phone call from owners to ask why I had called
2.40am Text from owners apologising for the noise.

So they did apologise by text but no apology in the morning.

On the plus side - a very clean room and a good breakfast. However I would never stay here again.

Our room was No.7, the last down the corridor. The room was nice and clean and to be honest the bathroom was great (the largest shower cubicle ever!). Twin beds were comfortable although mine was very creaky. Nice big TV in the room.

It is above a pub and was quiet considering (apart from the drone from what i imagine is an extractor unit below this room).

We ate in the restaurant both nights and I had to send my food back the first night as it wasn't hot enough (steak and kidney pudding cold in the middle).

The English breakfast was large but bland in my opinion so we just had egg on toast the second morning.

I would use again though as it was good value for money.

Room Tip: Room 7 seemed to be above a kitchen extractor? Constant tumble dryer drone like sound in the room.
