We only booked in for one night as we were visiting the local Auction House in Aylesham. Our room with ensuite was very clean and tasteful. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. The evening meal was oustanding - my husband said that it was the best leek and potato soup he had ever had whilst I had the cromer crab which was delicious. Our main course was a steak and kidney pie and I had the pork fillet Wellington. Both were excellent. The merlot suited us very well. Thought we may have had a problem with noise from the main road but we didn't hear anything. Will definitely stay here again.

Room tip: All rooms looked good.

As a party of 4 we visited the Plough Inn for lunch on the way to Aylsham, which is only a few miles along the road.

With it being midweek and at the end of the summer, fortunately ( for us) the place was not busy.

The menu selection is nicely varied, with some classic English
Pub dishes in addition to more bistro type dishes. The bar has a good selection of beers and a good wine list.

The meals we ordered were all of a very high standard, extremely tasty and all of us were very complementary of the food.

Service is very friendly and price wise extremely reasonable.

We stayed for two nights for a long weekend. We opted to have a meal here on our first evening (we arrived in the late afternoon). The food was delicious. The room was nice as well with large bay windows. Beds are low, so some guests may have problems with this and also guests may have problems with being close to the main road...we kept the windows open as it was very hot during the stay and the traffic was generally ok though we went to bed late so maybe didn't notice it much. Overall, quite clean with a few minor decorating/updating issues in the bathroom. I felt it was slightly a little over-priced for the room based on other accommodation. Breakfast was good; I liked the bacon flavour. Pub is placed on the main road so it's easy to locate and easy to get to Norwich (30 min drive) or north Norfolk or the broads area. We would return here for a short trip if given incentives especially, and we left our details of special dates/birthdays/anniversary as suggested. We enjoyed the food so much that we ate both of our main meals here in the two evenings we stayed in the area.

Room tip: rooms at the back are probably quieter, nice large rooms and bay windows
