Went here for a birthday weekend.
Such a beautiful house run by good, kind people.
Surroundings were so quiet and peaceful, great place to party but also fantastic to totally unwind.
Many THANKS The Gables
9 of us (all quite mature!) and Milly, the dog, had a very pleasant four days stay. The house is kept up to a very high standard, the garden too although we didn't get much of a chance to enjoy it. We visited several places and were particularly taken by Louth and the friendliness of the residents, while Grimsby and its very interesting fisheries museum and the neighbouring Cleethorpes beach made another good day out.
After searching for a long time for somewhere that wasn't too far from home but slept 10 adults, I came across this little gem of a place! Reasonable and free for my required dates, I thought it would be the perfect place for my husband's 40th celebration weekend and it really was! Right from booking, Diane was informative and helpful through email and nothing was too much trouble when asked. We arrived on the Friday night to a fantastic welcome pack and what was to be an amazing place to stay. Each room was decorated beautifully and modern and it was so spacious so nobody seemed on top of anybody. Despite being fairly secluded, the house was amazing with lots of great outdoor space which would have been amazing on a hot summers day. The hot tub really made it and we enjoyed this all weekend! I have never been anywhere so equipped - there was everything there that you could wish for! We even had the horses and sheep come to say hello throughout our stay which my one year old daughter loved! She also loved the outdoor play area! On the Sunday, we took a drive out to Cleethorpes which was a lovely little old fashioned seaside town and we all had great fun - not too far either! (Prob. a 25 minute drive) A great time had by all and we will hopefully be returning!
This beautiful place had everything we needed for our special weekend, we hosted our wedding lunch here following our ceremony nearby.
We set up a table for 12 on the sweeping lawn in front of the property and it was really was the picture that I’d wished for, and would rival any big wedding venue for class and elegance.
We loved sitting and watching the lovely horses and sheep in the adjoining field during our stay, even more enjoyable observing this scene from the fantastic hot tub!
The gardens are stunning, the house is just perfect in every way, spacious, airy and has this incredible feel - full of character and features and absolutely spotlessly clean.
Nearby walks are peaceful and scenic, you feel like you’re immersed in nature surrounded by all sorts of wildlife.
All of the rooms in the house are fantastic but particularly lovely are the bedrooms each with their own views. I have to say the photos to do not do justice it is even better in real life!
It’s really difficult to find the right words to describe this place and our unforgettable weekend spent here, it really was heavenly.
We can’t thank Diane and Bill enough for their hospitality, such thoughtful and genuinely kind people who went out of their way to make everything perfect for our special occasion.
Cannot recommend Gables highly enough!
A well equipped and comfortably isolated 5 bedroom house which easily accommodated 6 adults and 4 children. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and really felt at home for the week. Lovely gardens that the children could play in with no risk of passing traffic as the road was a dead end leading to the river. Lots of garden toys as well as indoor toys and games provided. A TV in nearly every bedroom as well as both lounges with freeview satellite included. The icing on the cake was the hot tub which we made good use of. Di and Bill were perfect hosts - sorting out any little problems (not that there were many) straight away but leaving us to ourselves otherwise.
We normally have a family holiday every year and have rented a few properties in East Anglia and further afield and this is by far the best one we have ever stayed in
