Just came back after a week at the Kennedy, no it's not the equivalent of a British 4* but it has everything you need; really clean, plenty of hot water, great views, very handy for the excellent local bus service and plenty of food.
We went 1/2 board and the only extras we bought were ice-creams and a bottle of wine to drink on the balcony of an evening (local back street shops have SA or OZ wine for E5 a bottle, found the local wine a little harsh but maybe didn't really give it a chance...).
Food not very adventurous but one vegetarian and one meat, veg and potato lover did very well. Always a choice of soup, a pasta dish, meat, chicken, fish or vege main course, with veg and potatoes, well laden antipasti table, cheese biscuits, gateaux and fresh fruit on offer in the evening and your usual cereals, fruit salad, yogurt, eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, grilled tomatoes, toast, cold meat, sliced cheese, toast, croissant and preserves for breakfast. Better quality coffee (never been a big fan of Nescafe) wouldn't have gone a miss and the orange juice certainly wasn't of the 'not from concentrate' variety...
Bedroom wasn't huge, but the beds were fine, crisp white cotton sheets and duvets with an extra blanket if you needed it in the cupboard, OK quality towels, there was a split in the bath panel but it didn't affect the shower and the 'snail trails' of silicone other reviewers have mentioned have been put there in an effort to stop the water from the shower ending up on the bathroom floor, some clever so and so had helpfully picked most of ours off... everything kept very clean by friendly unobtrusive staff.
No problem getting a kettle and it came with mugs, hurray... small fridge in room so easy enough to pick up a pint of milk along with the wine on the way home (only coffee whitener was provided)
Yes, The Strand is a busy road but we slept with our balcony door 1/2 open and it wasn't a problem sleeping. Bus stops within a few yards either side of the road and the buses were a pleasure to use, some do get very busy.
Found Malta a very easy, relaxed, place to be and the Maltese in general were very friendly and hospitable. Surprise, surprise, the only people that really got up our noses were some of the British folk working for the harbour ferry companies and the hop on hop off buses...
All in all a good value for money hotel and holiday, we'd go again.
