“Perfect idyll in unspoilt corner of Italy.”
Reviewed 16 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Casa della Mora is the most thoughtfully presented property we have ever stayed in. Even down to the British plug sockets available. The welcome pack was fabulous and gave us an immediate taste for the delicious (and incredibly cheap) local wine! Bill could not have been more helpful and attentive, but never obtrusive. He booked restaurants for us and was a wealth of knowledge about the local area. The villa was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and attractively furnished. Outside the villa, the terrace and barbecue are fantastic. And the pool - perfect for floating around in, enjoying the chirping of the crickets.
It was the hottest summer for fifty years when we were there, but the villa was surprisingly cool. It was lovely to stay somewhere where the fans were actually quiet, fully functioning and efficient.
We flew in to Bari as the flight times were more convenient than Brindisi. A two hour drive took us to the villa - if you follow Bill's instructions carefully, you find it easily. The local supermarkets now seem to open on Sundays too, so that was very convenient. A kilo of Parmigiano Reggiano for 10 euros a kilo (50 euros in Duty Free) was a bargain that could not be ignored. An experience not to be missed is an evening at Le Stanzie, a beautifully converted masseria that produced the most delicious food, with copious amounts of wine, for 30 euros a head. Our teenagers loved it. No menu... Just loads of gorgeous, locally produced food. For a cheap but cheerful pizza, check out Ca de Be in Collepasso.
A visit to Lecce is a must! A beautiful and vibrant city, with very few tourists, just locals out enjoying the atmosphere and restaurants.
If you are looking for a holiday in a part of Italy which is beautiful, traditional and not touristy, then we recommend Puglia. We can't wait to go back!

“Absoulutely fantastic.”

We stayed at Casa della Mora for 2weeks and cannot fault anything. Bill and Tracey are such a lovely couple, helping us with maps and information to find tucked away places. We were able to completely chill out, which is something I rarely do. We had quiet days at the villa, dipping into the pool and bbq in the evenings using the wood Bill provided for us. We then found beaches and places of interest. The villa is immaculate and fully equipped, even down to the cleaning products. Surrounded by olive trees and peace and quiet we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Bill and Tracey, we wish you all the very best for the future and hope to see you again....Oh and the Prosecco on tap was such a fantastic find x

“AWESOME”

We just spent 10 days at Casa della Mora. This staying was just awesome. Beautiful place, so relaxful in the middle of olive trees. Bill and his wife are just wonderful : always ready to help you and giving you good pieces of advice. The house is really comfy, well furnished. Very comfy bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped. The outdoor patio is really nice with a beautifuil view on the olive trees and the pool is just there to keep you in good shape! Honestly this is a great place to stay. Cutrofiano is well located so you can easily visit Alberabello, Ostuni, Otranto, Lecce or Gallipoli. On top of that there are great trattorie/restaurants to discover. Believe usthe Puglia is a great area and Casa della Mora is an excellent place to stay We highly recommend it!

“A Little Gem”
Reviewed 1 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Casa Della Mora:
After a long day's travelling and a 200km drive from Bari airport I instantly knew this was going to be a memorable stay. This 2 bed house is set in a vast olive grove approached from the main road by a dirt track. A more tranquil setting I could not imagine.
The owners, Bill & Tracy, who live 100mtrs along the lane, moved here some years back from England and have totally integrated into the community. They could not have been more helpful with local advice and suggestions for places to go; a large folder in the house is very detailed with local town maps.
Bill’s directions and helpful advice on travelling was invaluable and I do recommend a GPS as the excellent local roads can be rather daunting to navigate.
The house was presented to a very high modern standard and the welcome pack of local produce and wine was most welcome.
The setting is absolutely glorious; watching the local farmers going about their daily chores was reminiscent of biblical times.
For us four we had memorable times in the local shops etc. as almost no one spoke English and apart from the big popular towns like Lecce and Alberello, there are few tourists if any outside of the popular holiday dates, then it’s mostly Italians. But everyone was amazing helpful and full of smiles at our attempts to shop.
Our nearest town was Cutrofiano, set in the middle of the heel of Italy. The wineries and oil shops/estates are a must with the own wine dispensed into plastic containers for 1.20Euros a litre – and was it drinkable! The empties next morning proved it.
Things to do: almost every town has some ancient old parts with spectacular churches. Beaches are within 20mins but our favourite was down in the SW corner around Tore Vado, 40mins. There is sand for miles and a good local restaurant.
There are not many places I want to return to but this is the exception.

“Perfect!”
Reviewed 7 May 2015 for a stay in June 2014

Don't miss this oasis of peace in a wonderfully secluded location. It's within easy reach of all the interesting places to visit on both coasts & we came away feeling we'd been able to explore everywhere without having to travel far. In the end we stayed at Casa della Mora for two weeks, having extended our stay because it was so good. The villa itself is very homely & doesn't feel like a rental property. There's everything you need & it's beautifully clean & well maintained, & William was nearby if we needed help with anything. It felt very safe. The pool area is in full sun all day & there's a large shady terrace with a dining table. The garden backs right onto olive groves & there's only the sounds of the countryside in the background. I walk with a stick & I found everything easy to manage in the villa - the beds are really comfortable & the showers are walk-in. You can park the car very close & there are no steps to worry about. One of the bedrooms opens straight out onto the terrace. Access to the pool is via some steps & a ladder but I didn't find it a problem. You definitely need a car for this location & it's not easy to find the first time but follow William's map co-ordinates & you'll be fine. Shops are 5 minutes drive away. I can't think of any negatives!
