I can start this review by saying that I knew very little (nothing) about the the Dordogne area of France, and was pleasantly surprised by the untouched rusticity and charm we discovered. And Les Constancies was no exception. After being at a three day wedding bash at a nearby chateau we were all in need of some serious R&R. And so upon arriving at the property and getting a first glimpse of the pool..... and then the view from the pool... we knew we had hit jackpot.
We were greeted by Zemec, the onsite Maintenance Manager, who welcomed us and showed us around the property with all the need-to-know essentials. Zemec was frequently around the property which was very helpful for any burning questions we had.
Unfortunately we only had two nights there, which felt nothing but scandalous once we had unpacked and discovered our new home from home.
The property is spacious and clean, with all the mod cons that any modern day family could need (posh coffee machine included!). Each bedroom has its own bathroom which was great for us being a big group. We were also able to pitch up on the top floor with our toddler which meant that we didn't feel like we were imposing on the other (child free) folk in the group.
The pool area is spacious with more than ample seating and dining areas. We did have the pool heated as we were staying at the end of October so it was rather 'fresh'! Obviously at this time of year the nights draw in fairly early so we didn't get to enjoy the outside space as much as we would have liked, so we could only imagine long relaxed summer evenings spent outside sipping on local Bergerac wine and dining on fresh BBQ treats (we just did all this indoors instead - great kitchen facilities).
A car is essential for exploring the area as there aren't really any shops or cafes within walking distance, which we found the only drawback. But for local activities such as walking or kayaking, this is the place.
We would certainly go back to Les Constancies, perhaps with an even bigger party, it can after all sleep 20+ guests around the estate. Top find and well worth a visit.

We were in the area for a wedding so made a weekend out of it. We had 15 people so stayed in the main house and two studios... Perfect size and absolutely gorgeous accommodation and grounds. Perfect communal spaces for group lounging and perfect set up for a brilliant group holiday! Miss it already!
We were in the area for a wedding at Chateau Cazanac. Les Constancies has three very comfortable double bedrooms, two ensuite, and two twin bedded rooms, most suited to children/adolescents. The living area indoors and out was a perfect place for our extended family to be together. Super pool too. Our only gripe was that the hot water in the showers ran out rather too quickly, admittedly we may have tested the system as we were nine adults! Helpful caretaker on site. Very pleasant owner.
