“Idyllic”
Reviewed 16 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This is our second visit to this charming property in such a quiet location. Since our last visit the owners have continued to make improvements with a lovely new covered patio, great for sitting out during the day to avoid the strong sun, and at night. There is also a now a pool (not having one last year didn't detract from our enjoyment because our visit was earlier in the season). This seems to have complemented the property well and was a welcome relief from the heat. Its design seems to blend in with the landscape and provides great views across the valley. Whilst the property is on a quiet lane away from the hustle and bustle there is local inexpensive eating just a few minutes away by car and the local town, Casoli, is worth visiting on market day.

“Traditional, cosy house set in the Italian countryside in semi-rural location close to shops and restaurants”
Reviewed 26 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

The house is set in a semi rural location in a quiet lane in the Italian countryside close to Casoli. The views are stunning and the home is extremely comfortable and cosy with all amenities on hand. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. There is a supermarket and a few shops within a 5 minute drive together with a handful of restaurants. We visited 2 of the local restaurants and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The house is within 45 minutes from Pescara airport or 2.5 hours from Rome, 15 minutes to the beach and 1 hour to the main ski resort. The owners were great to deal with and we really enjoyed our stay, we have recommended it to friends already and can't wait to return!

“Well appointed villa and a great place to relax”
Reviewed 27 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Communication with the owner, Jane, was flawless. When we booked she quickly sorted out a Tripadvisor induced problem and was extremely quick in answering our queries.

The villa was spotless, both inside and out. I believe there was enough kitchenware to provide for a family of 10! The villa was very comfortably and tastefully furnished.

David, the on-site manager (who lives just up the road), was very helpful and a mine of information regarding places to eat out at and to visit. There was also a large number of guides and maps available.

The villa is situated in a very quiet area and it was the perfect place to just sit out on the patio and relax and recharge your batteries.

It is obvious that Jane has put a lot of thought into the way in which she has tastefully furnished and equipped the villa and we can't give it a strong enough recommendation.

“Lovely place in the heart of Abruzzo.....”
Reviewed 2 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

This is a lovely place to spend some time. It is very relaxing with the feel of "being out in the wilds", yet within easy striking distance of many amenities and sites.
The welcome pack on arrival was well received and the people overseeing the property were friendly and amenable. The ground floor part of the house where we stayed was clean on arrival and extremely well appointed. Having a dishwasher and washing machine was a real bonus. The "wet room" was excellent. Because of the thick walls the rooms were cool enough (with fans) on even exceptionally hot days. The whole place felt cared for and was a joy to spend time in and around. The views were marvellous and for us eating out on the patio under the gazebo was particularly nice.
The villa is well placed for local attractions - the mountains to the west and the beaches of the Adriatic to the east. Nearby towns ooze rustic italian charm. In terms of nearby amenities we would recommend the local supermarket (Eurospin) and Il Bucaniere for a truly authentic (and cheap) italian eating experience. Both are found in Selva Piana, ten minutes drive away.
We visited as part of two couples. Our friends had the equally good upstairs part of the house and we had the ground floor. Because both parts were self contained and had the same facilities it worked really well. You could be with people but still enjoy your own space.
Overall, a great property superbly located and somewhere we will visit again.

“An absolute gem!”
Reviewed 1 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Having seen the photos and read other reviews prior to our visit we were expecting a fantastic holiday - and we were not disappointed. Casa Foelas is situated in a quiet commune in a fairly remote area however the views it therefore affords one were spectacular. The villa is ideally situated for trips to many beautiful mediaeval towns and also access to the sea. Not wanting to drive in to Pescara we found a station 20minutes away and let the train take the strain.
We travelled with friends and so the opportunity to use the whole villa meant we could eat together but also have some individual 'downtime'. Both apartments were superbly equipped, although, perhaps, downstairs could have a larger dishwasher as the inclination was for us to eat on the terrace. Everything one needs for self catering has been provided.
The decor throughout is very tasteful, especially the kitchen. The air conditioning and ceiling fans were an absolute must in the upstairs apartment as it was very warm inside when outside temperatures were in the high 30s. Although mosquito nets are on the windows, but not on the front door, they need a little attention as holes are appearing. Repellant with high DEET content is essential!
The welcome pack and support from David was lovely. He is a great ambassador for the area and its numerous delights - restaurants/sightseeing opportuniities.
All in all a fabulous holiday experience. Definitely intend to make a return visit.
Thank you Richard and Jane for making our holiday stay so memorable.

Thank you for your comments , so pleased you enjoyed your stay and loved the area. Unfortunately the size of the dishwasher which is a slim line one is limited by the size of the kitchen downstairs .
The mosquito nets on the windows are replaced each spring - but unfortunately the odd hole does appear as the summer progresses !
We hope to welcome you back to Casa Foelas in the near future .
