We just returned from the hotel (4 August) after a brilliant 10 days at this excellent hotel. When we arrived (25 July), we were greeted with a compementary drink of champagne or orange juice. Our room was on the 5th floor and I have to say that the room was lovely and clean and the view was magnificent. One thing I will advise is unless you have paid for the room and wristband upgrade, rent a safe, they cost €12 for 7 days. The food was top notch, and there's plenty of choice at whatever time of day you want to eat. Our first experience of the evening cabaret/entertainment was from an act called 'mad hatter'. Although it may not have been everyone's cup of tea, it was funny nonetheless. If you're after a bargain or two, head over to puerto mogan on a friday, where there's a massive market, it's the biggest market on the island. If you're a sun worshipper and spend pretty much the whole of your holiday by the pool, then the next part of this review won't be of any interest to you. If you want to experience the real gran canaria, and you're ok with heights and being in a minibus for a day, we would fully recommend the island delights tour which takes you up into the mountains and the views will put a smile on your face. Unless you're a hardcore shopper, avoid the Las Palmas shopping trip. Although the trip into the old part of town takes you to a small market and a museum of christopher columbus, I found it to be a little laboured and we found it difficult to find something to do once you have looked around the new part as there is only one main shoping centre thats walking distance (el muelle). But if you like Debenhams over here, check out El Corte Ingles. We also experienced a trip to the Music Hall Tavern, where you will find an evening of singing, dancing and a little bit of stand up comedy, but thouroughly enjoyable! Back at the hotel, you have the option of joining in on certain activities that occur within the patio area. Darts, pool, archery, and table tennis just to name a few. If you win the little competition they set up, you can win a t shirt :), however there is no pressure on the guests to join in at any time. Just look out for the young animation crew wearing blue and yellow if any of the activities interest you. Now, although previously I mentioned that the entertainment in the evening was funny, we did have to endure an hour of truly shocking singing in the form of 'casino havana' :( although the only mildly entertaining part was the dancers behind her!

So to summarise, food - excellent, drinks - excellent (unless you got it as a free upgrade, don't bother to upgrade to a black wristband, it's not worth it), the staff - always smiling, friendly and helpful. ATTENTION HONEYMOONERS!! If you are going here on your honeymoon, take your marriage certificate, as you could get a free upgrade! Thouroughly enjoyable stay, and I will come back with my new wife, anniversary maybe.....

Room Tip: get a room from about the 5th floor up if you can to enjoy the view of puerto mogan. And it will als...

A lovely hotel, great food, excellent service by the staff. Unfortunately, the evening entertainment is dreadful. The Thomson duo 'indigo Sky' seem to determined to ruin every classic song! The guitarist seems to know about 4 chords and they never seem to leave!!!

Overall a great holiday but the entertainment leaves a lot up be desired!

Just so you know, I babble...

Me (22) and my partner (40) just stayed here for a week (on silver wristbands). It was amazing.

Food - A wide variety at breakfast and dinner. At lunch there were similar thing as well as a lot of different items. We never had to eat the same thing twice. There's always food so you dont have to worry about set times to eat, and it was all lovely and fresh. They constantly change the dishes replacing them with full fresh ones.
Drinks - Whatever you wanted, they would make it for you. They have a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. These are pretty much availabe from 10am till midnight. and they do not skimp on the amount of alcohol either. My drinks were filled 3/4 with alcohol and just a 1/4 splash.
Entertainment - They always had something going on, wether it be niko the pianist, or Indigo Sky the Acoustic Duo. There were always live acts on in the main Bar. The olympics was shown thorough out the Sports Bar opening times. There were many activities to be done. And you were not pressured to do a thing.
Rooms - they were very spacious and were immaculate. Staff were constantyl cleaning and with huge smiles on their faces, we didnt have one single fauly when we stayed there. The beds were comfy and made up daily by the maids as well as cleaning the whole room each day.
Staff - go out their way to help you. And they have a great Thomson Team who are also happy to help.
Location - as its not in the centre, its hard to just wander out and find a local bar/restaurant. You need to get a taxi or bus to another town. But this is not a problem as there is really no need to venture out the complex. It has everything including a small supermarket and a water park.
This Hotel is superb value for money and overall I reccomend you stay here. I cant fault it at all. I will definately be returning.

Room Tip: 7th Floor had great views and lifts were easily accessible. Sun was always on the balcony.

Just returned from one week at Suite princess, this hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean, this adult only hotel is pure relaxation which is what as wanted from this break. There is activities if you want to join in but no pressure is given. I did think the sunbeds are little to close together but a sunbed could be found at most times of the day, most poeple did put towels on probably to get the spot they wanted but all the same other beds were still available. I found the food to be probably the best all inclusive I have experienced with lots of choice to suit all tastes and freindly service, one point was the air con was not really cool enough as it did get to warm on an evening. I did have the upgrade but would not bother if i returned as everything is fine on a silver band. The room was lovely and clean and plenty of room, all rooms have a lovely veiw. We met Val & Keith Karen and Mike who were lovely poeple. this hotel I recommend to all wanting child free complete relaxation and the entertainment was also quite good.

Room Tip: I would say a high floor isgood we were on 9th flr exceptional veiws

We have previously stayed at the Taurito Princess which is directly opposite but as we now travel without children in tow we decided to give the adult only Suite Princess a try. On arrival I was disappointed with the reception area as it lacks the wow factor of its sister hotel, it is small, colourless, clinical and hot. We were disappointed to be given a low floor when we had purposely emailed the hotel and asked for a top floor which they acknowledged but did not provide. The air conditioning in the room was fine but the restaurants, bars and reception are not air conditioned and can get very uncomfortable, especially when they are cooking in the restaurant, you can't sit there enjoying the view because it's just too hot which is a shame in a hotel of this standard. We had a problem with bugs in our room and we did find it a bit bland looking and lacking in colour, although it was a great size. The hotel is child free but there is a water park right next door so still lots of shouting and screaming which was a bit disappointing if you go think you're getting away from it by going adult only. Some gentle pool music could have helped to mask the noise a bit. Complaints over. The view was fantastic, there are plenty of sunbeds whatever time you turn up. The public areas are very clean, the staff are very helpful, The pool is split into two, one half is very deep and not heated, the other half goes from shallow to deep and is heated to a very comfortable temperature so it takes away that shock factor of cold water. Port Mogan is just around the corner, 6 euros in a taxi, for shopping, with a large Friday market and a white sand beach. The food was absolutely wonderful and we enjoyed the al a carte option one night. The chefs cooking the fresh meat and fish did an excellent job and everything is repeatedly topped up. The all inclusive drink option is wonderful and almost all drinks were included. I did have a disaronno one night that cost 4 euros but local all inc. options are available for nearly every drink you can think of. It was sometimes difficult to find bar staff in the day but there are self service pumps for wine, beer, sangria, soft drinks and cocktails. The entertainment wasn't too bad if you enjoy that sort of thing. We quite enjoyed Elvis and The Drifters tribute acts. The only down side was the dance music that came on after the entertainment, the music was often dire and drove everyone away. The hotel is full of different ages from young couples to older ones, its definitely worth investing in some better 'current' music especially as its advertised as a disco hour. We slept pretty well most nights as the rooms are mostly quiet and cool, we were only on the 4th floor which is two floors below reception but we still had a good view. We used a courtesy room on the last night so you can still enjoy a full day by the pool and then get showered and changed before your flight transfer, it was free and you get a half hour slot. We were going to book a late check out at reception but that was 50 euros which I thought was a bit steep considering it was only 26 euros the last time we did this. We only found out about the courtesy room from another guest so its worth knowing. Overall we had a lovely week in the sun but a few areas let it down so not quite an excellent for us.

Room Tip: All floors have a great view but the lower and near the middle you are the nearer you are to the ter...
