We were attending Somerford Hall for a wedding. The Venue is set in a stunning location. The food was excellent, the bar is very small but plenty of staff so you don't wait long to be served and as long as you're drinking draught beer the price is ok but if you like the stronger stuff your wallet/purse will take a battering. Cannot fault the service though as everyone was very helpful and friendly.
By biggest gripe is the room. At £90 a night it is very bog standard and we expected so much more. The room is small and the decor is dull. Most homes now have power showers and to stay here and have a normal shower is disappointing. They state they have flat screen TVs but what they don't tell you is that they are the size of a postage stamp. If you could imagine staying in a small caravan with just a bedroom and a toilet/wash room that is probably the best way to describe how this room feels. Overall our experience was good but massively let down by the room which should be at least half the price

Attended a wedding here and having seen the reviews was expecting more. The food at the reception and service was excellent. However, our room was very disappointing. We paid £110 per night - 2 night stay. The room was on the second floor. No lifts nd was very shabby and cheaply furnished. Also it was exceedingly hot even when we were supplied with a fan by ver helpful staff.
I feel the owners are making 'a packet' here and not reinvesting in the facilities

Probably biased but aside from that Sommerford Hall hosted the best wedding we have ever attended on Saturday 2nd of December 2017.
From first booking until we checked out on the day after the wedding we had absolutely spectacular service.
The food was amazingly good (we had lamb shanks) for main and cold platter in the evening, no one could have been hungry. The staff particularly Megan were extremely attentive and helped to make the wedding wonderful.
Our only regret is that we can't relive it again, however I am sure the photos will make the memory forever.
So well done Sommerford Hall.

the venue was lovely great location for a wedding. The food was excellent we had soup to start and lamb shank for main with lemon parfait for dessert. the staff were very friendly and attentive and the accommodation was clean with tea and coffee and the bridal party even got some danish pastries. drinks at the bar were reasonably priced with a good selection. would recommend for a wedding or conference venue

Room tip: all rooms were individual but the same standard

Attended here for a wedding. Lovely setting and beautiful vista. Spacious interior, not cluttered and the hardwood floors add a touch of a traditional stately home. 3 course meal was hot, very well cooked and plentiful. Super pate, good chicken with aldente veg, nice chocolate fondant, great lemon tart, strawberry cheesecake a little bland. Rooms spacious and clean. Big downfall, heating was not controlled very well. burning hot upstairs even with windows open, and guests stifling in certain areas downstairs necessitating the opening of doors. This needs to be looked at. staff - a mix of very attentive and some possibly exhausted and a little flaky. Buffet of burgers and salad in the evening - no cutlery provided or napkins - quite bizarre considering guests were in their best clothes......
