“Top class, excellent room.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2012

We had decided we needed a treat and booked a weekend at the delightfull Gisborough Hall
Hotel. We decided to spalsh out and get a 'feature' room on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis. The room we were allocated was super, the main feature was a large free standing bath in the bedroom ! Superb food and wine and the breakfasts were divine.

Room Tip: Go for a feature room, it's a little more but well worth it !

My wife and I have just returned from a 2 night stay (11 – 13 Apr 12) DBB to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The entire hotel staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble, with any request acted upon immediately. From arrival until departure we were made to feel very special.

We stayed in the Fountain Suite and can recommend this room for that special occasion with its own sitting room, Jacuzzi bath and four-poster bed . The high quality décor is truly first-class and provided us with long lasting memories, particularly with the pre- arranged champagne and flowers on arrival. Also the complementary water and sherry give that little added touch not seen in other hotels.

We ate both nights in the Chaloner’s Restaurant and the quality of choice and food was outstanding including the vegetarian options. This coupled with the level of service for which we would like to single out and thank both Byron (Matradee) and Chris for both the high level of service and for making our evenings very memorable and the lovely sentiment of “Happy Anniversary” written on our dessert plate.

We pre-booked a spa treatment “Crystal package” which was extremely relaxing and included a lunch and finished off with coffee and cake being sent to our room was exceptional.

The hotel ambiance is outstanding, mixing the old with the new and you can spend hours just walking around both the historical internal corridors and scenic external grounds

We cannot recommend this Hotel enough and is truly an outstanding Hotel and more accustomed to a 5*, based on my experience of staying in many other 4* Hotels; which none come anywhere close to this Hotel. This is a real hidden gem and would like to thank everyone for making our visit something we will treasure.

Stayed for one night only over Easter and a marked improvement over when we stayed last time. Staff were friendlier but the biggest improvement was the food which was really first class.
Stayed in the Woodland wing which keeps you fit walking to it but as ever the bathroom was spotless and the room clean and warm, had a lovely stay.

I looked at the tripadvisor reviews after we had stayed as we had visited this hotel some years previously and enjoyed ourselves. On reading the reviews I saw that all had the same view.
What an excellent hotel.Very good location, peaceful but not too far away from Whitby, Pickering, Yorkshire Moors etc. Beautiful historic building with extensive grounds. Excellent rooms and facilities, whether it be the 'old' house or the newer garden wing. First class food, and the icing on the cake, fantastic staff only too happy to help.

Room Tip: The garden rooms are modern and very spacious and have excellent car parking availability. Bit of a...

My husband and i attended a wedding here. The grounds and building were stunning and really impressive on arrival. Our expectations were high as the traditional setting gave the impression of grandeur and all good things to come. We were booked into the Woodland wing, the walk to the room alone was still exciting and lovely. The facilities were impressive and the huge nicely decorated and immaculate room with super king size bed was outstanding. The on-suite bathroom itself was bigger then a lot of rooms offered at other hotels with a stand alone shower, a huge bath and double sink with plenty of light and mirrors located throughout the room. The only disappointing thing for our trip was the wedding breakfast...tasty food but not enough! Everyone left hungry! We will be going back for a break and if we ever go for another wedding we will take a pack up!!! This venue is ideally suited for get away breaks and this reflects in the lack of detail and attention to functions as it obviously does not need to specialise in Weddings to survive.
