We stopped by after a walk in the park and ordered capuccino. Mine was very strong and was really horrible. I kept my mouth shut until I heard my friend comment on her cappuccino as well. Hers was way too strong as well and was beyond drinking. Was quite strange. Was never disappointed by the capuccinos and cafe mochas at Rubens in Heswall....maybe it was a problem with the machine!!
After having a nice walk around west kirby on a cold day myself and my boyfriend really fancied a warming hot chocolate so we decided to stop here. My boyfriend ordered two hot chocolates and was asked 'would we like everything on it" (marshmallows, whipped cream, chocolate sticks) of course he asked for the works yet when we were given our hot chocolates we were minus the marshmallows....my boyfriend went back up to the till and asked for marshmallows and was simply told "we don't have any"....so why offer us to have everything on it in the first place. They could have put an extra chocolate stick on or took 25p off the price of the drink. But oh no...its the whatever attitude of pay full price for less service!! Will not be returning!!
Used to be my fave place in the good old days (come back Hol & Soph!!) but great staffing continues. Amusingly naff food (costco danish anyone...) does not detract from a lovely atmosphere and really, really good coffee. Forced to drink decaf in the last year and the very best I have had anywhere is from Rubens. Watch out Costa - they are coming!!
Very average. The staff are very friendly and polite. But the taste of the tea is terrible. I haven't a clue what they use but I certainly cannot recommend the tea. It's not cheap and only use the place in an emergency. It has a small enclosed back patio but it doesn't have a heater and can be draughty. It isn't even an illuminated area, which certainly would be nice on these dark nights.
