From being picked up by the owner, (as our coach couldn't get to the door), to early breakfasts in order to catch ferries, and a lift back to the coach pick-up at the end, everyone at Albergo Lenno did their best to make our stay enjoyable, many in a way that made you feel as if you were with friends.
Wide choice of breakfast items, well prepared and tasty choice of evening meals.
Rooms, public areas and pool were clean, the beds were comfortable, air conditioning was effective and there was a powerful shower with plentiful hot water. Even at the front of the hotel it was quiet.
Handy for ferries, lakeside walks and more strenuous walking in the hills.
Perhaps more for middle aged and older rather than families with children, although our visit was outside the main family holiday season.

Room Tip: Front lake view rooms are worth the extra, ideally with a balcony as well.

We were checked in very easily and our bags taken to our rooms. We stayed for a week and without exception all the hotel staff were polite, helpful, cheery and good at their jobs. The restaurant is very good and there is a set meal that you can choose courses from. The breakfast was superb. Fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, eggs and bread and rolls to choose from, along with coffee, tea and freshly squeezed juices.
The bus service and boat service is very good. There are a few restaurants to choose from to eat if you don't want to eat at the hotel.
The pol is lovely and there are plenty of sun beds
I Would definetly stay there again

Room Tip: Go for a bakcony

Have just returned from a ten day stay at this old fashioned family hotel. Stay here if you enjoy tranquility and do not want to be part of a bustling community. It is a step away from a ferry stop and a small train that runs up to Menaggio.
Our room was a good size, with refurbished bathroom, (shower only). The room itself needed a revamp but everything was kept extremely clean. The balcony was small but certainly worth the money.
Food - breakfast is limited but typical for Italy whilst dinner was four course with a menu choice. We particularly enjoyed the pasta dishes.
Staff - excellent. The tour company I booked with did not offer the room I wanted so I made arrangements directly with the hotel to upgrade. This was done via e-mail and with great courtesy. Staff at the hotel were initially shy but soon became comfortable with you. They were helpful and charming and nothing was too much trouble.
Facilities - the pool is a good size and set in the garden where there is both sun and shade. Wonderful bird song whilst you swim. No entertainment in the evening and the only TV channel available in English is BBC World. Free wi-fi excellent.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Choose a Full Lake View room with balcony/terrace. Sun all morning and cool in the afternoon. Endless entertainment watching the ferry boats and stunning views of the lake, Bellagio and Villa Balbianello.

My friend and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and gave us good advice with regard to visiting lakeside villas set in the most amazing Spring gardens. We had booked half board and the food was excellent. Our rooms which were spacious and well furnished ,were on the 2nd and 3rd floors with beautiful views of the Lake and the Dolomite MountainsI can recommend Hotel Lenno to anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of Lake Como as I believe the location was outstanding.

Choose a 4 star hotel in Italy is often not a guarantee, and this was a clear example. I can't still understand how the Italian government not controls the category and the services provided by their hotels. Certanly this hotel would have many problems in other European countries. A hotel that only you can save his prime location in front of Lago di Como and vaporetto stop, or its terrace with small pool, plus peace of mind. Moreover, a real fiasco: Ikea furnishings refurbished room, with no taste whatsoever, mini TV, closet with no hangers. Amenities of bath are gel and shampoo and without replacement on the second day, nor the towels. Continental breakfast + boiled eggs only. Restaurant only serves a menu, which does not indicate the price. They would not assist us to make a simple omelet for our two little tired girls because they said they had no carte ... in a 4*. Staff unkindly and low professional, nothingh interest in give any information Therefore the value is really very poor. I would recommend to people wanting to visit the central area of the lake (Bellagio, Varenna) to center in Menaggio (Lenno is not interesting)

Room Tip: Most of the rooms have a lake-view, but better if you ask for a front room on the top floor
