San Gerardo de Dota was the last stop in our 2-week trip to Costa Rica. I am SO glad we went!! The drive to get there was very "interesting" - the road is narrow and steep, but SO worth it!! After a whole day of searching, we were able to see the famous and incredibly beautiful quetzal bird! Along with hundreds of hummingbirds, woodpeckers, and many other birds.
We found out of a GREAT place to eat very close to a hotel called "Dantica" - with Senora Miriam - who offered us wonderful locally made meals! Mrs. Miriam and her husband also have 2 cabins for rent - very simple but clean - we saved a LOT by staying here.
To reserve a cabin, you can call Senora Miriam at [--]. She does not speak a lot of English, but is a wonderful host.
