Had a wonderful time here, couldn't have asked for more. So well appointed, perfect location, amazing landscapes. Inside all possible needs have been catered for. The facilities are great and the owners clearly have fantastic taste! Loved the open fire, comfy beds and woods to walk in. Great base to explore an amazing area and well within reach for coast and local attractions. Great shops and services in surrounding villages, and don't miss the local microbrewery. Can't rate this highly enough, thanks to owners and 24/7 cleaners for sorting and providing a perfect and reasonable break!

“Lovely cottage in a beautiful, quiet location.”
Reviewed 8 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

This is a lovely cottage which has a homely feel about it, the heating and hot water system are both easy to use and efficient; the chilly March evenings were easily overcome and we were very cozy and confortable. The neighbours were very helpful and friendly. Another reviewer was complaining about the no pets on furniture rule; this had obviously been ignored as dog hairs were in evidence on the settee and one of the chairs - this was a minor point and did not spoil our holiday. The WiFi had a reasonable connection speed, the bath and the main double bed were both big enough for my 6'6" frame to lie in comfort!
Highly recommended for a quiet break.

“Nice cottage needs some attention”

Whilst the cottage its self is nice and has everything you need provided there are a few things that need addressing.
TV is way to small
Bedding and towels smelt musty
Loose patio slabs
Property is listed as dog friendly which I double checked with Blue Chip Holidays but when you arrive the welcome book requests no dogs on the furniture, beds or fouling in the garden which to me makes it only just dog tolerant and in no way dog friendly.
We also mis-judged the distance to local amenities, nothing is in walking distance and the village is lacking in facilities. Great if you want to completely get away from it all but not so good if you want to also go places as anything worth doing is quite a drive away.

“Warm, cosy and welcoming”

We've just returned from a long weekend at this lovely cottage. As other reviewers have said it's been modernised and updated beautifully and sympathetically, we certainly weren't disappointed. We arrived late afternoon and the cottage was lovely and warm, there was a comprehensive file telling you how the heating/hot water and log burner worked, amongst other things. We had a quick re-arrange of the furniture to make the most of the log burner and we were right at home. The cottage is well equipped with most things you'd need whilst on holiday, except candles !! Unfortunately for us there was quite a major storm whilst we were there and the whole area suffered a 20 hour power cut so although not usually an item I would expect to need, candles would have been very handy on this occasion, the other problem was it's an all electric cottage as I'm guessing gas doesn't reach that far out into "the sticks" but a lovely couple down the road lent us a camping stove and gas bottle and thanks to the wonderful log burner we didn't get cold but again not usually something you need to worry about. It doesn't state, or didn't when we booked, whether logs are provided but they are, all you need to buy is newspaper, kindling and firelighters (if you need them) all available at the shop in the village which I think is open until 7pm, kindling was only £1 a bag so very reasonable. We didn't use the local pubs so I can't comment on them but the walking is wonderful and right on the doorstep, perfect if like us you take the dog, on the 3 days we ventured into the forest we never saw a soul until we got to the village which is just under 2 miles from the cottage if you go via the road, longer if you walk through the forest but much nicer, there is also a watering can at the property to wash off your mucky pup but no outside tap but according to the owners info pack they're more than happy for you to wash your dog off in the bath as long as you use the correct bath mat !! No such luxury for my boy I'm afraid it was a douse down in the very pleasant garden, although due to the weather that's all we used it for. Our last day was glorious and I can imagine a beautiful summers day with the dining room doors fully open, it must be fantastic as it's a real sun trap. We're on Vodafone and had a very good signal at the property and there were no problems with the wifi, again a very good signal. Despite the power cut and the flooded roads a very good weekend was had by all and I think Finn (the labrador) was very sad to come back to our log burnerless home. One last thing Lin at 24/7 Clean was a lovely, helpful lady and even checked we'd arrived at the cottage safely due to the adverse weather and flooded roads.

Beautifully modernised character property. Spotlessly clean, warm, lashings of hot water. Although we took the opportunity to explore the lovely contryside, we would have been quite happy staying in and enjoying the peace and quiet. At night, we slept with the window open, our room lit with moonlight and we could hear nothing but hooting owls, screech owls and frogs calling to each other. This review sounds too good to be true, but it is really that good. I'm the sort of chap who, despite how good the holiday has been, I like to go home... I like home. This time, I really didn't want to go home, I could have stayed a LOT longer. Hope you all enjoy as much as we did.
