We spent five nights at Sea Garden, and could highly recommend this resort! We were lucky to meet the owner - Sonia, when our public boat got stuck in the sand for three hours near the pier in Manado. We arrived to Bunaken late in the evening, and Sonia took an excellent care of us. Everything promised about the resort was delivered - accommodation was clean and comfortable, security was great, food variety was excellent. Sonia runs her resort in the most professional manner! Her attitude is of the highest standards - and it is very rare that we speak so highly of anyone. We spent over three years cumulative traveling in SE Asia, and stayed in many-many places around Indonesia, and we honestly think that Sonia's attitude is one of the very best we've encountered.

I stay 10 days in seagarden and had a excellent, relaxing time. Sonja, local owner, was super nice and was really helpful with many things. The staff was so nice too, always smiling. I felt like home. The food was delicious and you could eat a lot. Not only 1 plate. The whole staff and sonja where playing 2 nights local music and we had a good laugh and dancing. The bungalow are basic but nice and cleaned every day. The house reef is amazing and diving was just mind blowing. The equipment is in an excellent condition. The boat crew and dive master are super friendly. I was lucky and could snorkeling with dolphins.

You can choose cheaper bungalows like daniels home stay which i stay now in lempeh but you will never have the same experience like with sea garden from food to dive boat and equipment and service.

On the end of my 10 days i gave 450000 rp tip to all the crew. They will share it.

I will definitly go back to sea garden and see the crew/staff again and special sonja which is now a friend of mine.

Thank you so much and till next time.

We spent a week here in January 2016. The staff is really nice and the atmosphere is good. Dinner is eaten with all guests at a long table. Food is diverse and plenty. The bungalows are basic, but have a large bathroom and mosquitonets. There is also a fan, but electricity is only available from 6 pm to 6 am, so the only way to cool down during the day is swimming. You can swim in front of the resort. If you swim a bit out of the coast, you can snorkel on the nice reef in front of the resort.

We did our Open Water diving course at Bunaken SeaGarden Resort. We really enjoyed our course. Our instructor, Arjuna, knew the area well and spoke english very well. Also, Bunaken is a really nice place to learn diving. The corals and wildlife are beautiful.

I loved everything about my stay at Bunaken SeaGarden Resort. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming. The food was always delicious and plenty of it. The diving was the best I have ever experienced. So many colours and wonderful marine life. My favourite were the dolphins swimming and playing with us next to the boat. I can't wait to come back!

We were so happy at Sea Gardens we extended our stay there. All the staff are really friendly and that filtered down to create a great atmosphere among guests. The rooms were reasonably basic but good value, the bed was very comfortable. We did two days diving there which we really enjoyed. We also spent a lot of time snorkeling at the house reef which was fantastic and obviously free.

There is actually a fair bit to do in Bunaken. The main village is twenty minutes down the road and is quite interesting to walk around. There are a variety of small local shops and cafes where you can have a soft drink or beer. There are also some local bars a few minutes down the road from Sea Gardens where you can enjoy a drink with the locals. There are motorbikes for hire if you want to explore the island. You can also go to the spa and cocktail bar at The Village without staying there.

Overall it's a great island and we really enjoyed staying at Sea Gardens. We also liked the fact it's owned by a local woman (most of the other accommodation on the island seems to be European owned).
