I was meant to stay here for 5 nights but left after 1, after discovering I could get a much nicer room for the same price at the Two Fishes.
My general first impression was not great. They wanted to pick me up at 8am, but my room wasn't even ready. There was no need for the early pick up and I was left waiting around until 11am. For a very expensive transfer I was not impressed.
I tried to see if I could talk to someone about snorkelling trips And the only person that seemed to know anything was one of the diving instructors, but he was busy with two divers.
I was initially meant to come and do my PADI. No-one seemed to remember this (until that evening) and there didn't seem to be the right staff available. As it happened I had a chest infection and couldn't do it. I would have been very disappointed had I been well enough though.
Had to ask for information on when meal times were. Told wrong times for lunch - whilst I quite like eating with others, having to wait around for 1-2 hrs for people if their diving trip over runs is a little annoying. I was told 12pm, so realised I didn't have time for a morning snorkel by the time I actually got my room. 12pm came and went, so did 1pm...wasted morning.

I was told I could join an afternoon boat trip, but it got cancelled. Then I was told I could join one the following morning but then no details were shared. It all seemed like hard work to get anything arranged! It was all a little too relaxed so you end up doing nothing you wanted to do.
There was also building work going on which was noisy and also the staff often hung around near the bungalows shouting to each other. Not exactly a peaceful location.
There's also no where to really hang out and relax here.
The shame is that when I made the booking, the owner seemed so efficient. Shame the reality was so different.
In frustration, I visited next door. I got lucky with the walk in rate..but even the basic rooms at Two Fish (which are the same price as BSG) are nicer, plus the facilities are so much better - swimming pool, staff that really engage with you and care about the reef (along with your safety)..I could go on but I'll save that for their review :)
Regardless of whether you are snorkelling or diving, go to the Two Fishes. I hope to come back here to do my PADI some day or do some diving once I'm well enough to get qualified.
