We fell in love with the place as soon as we stepped onto the patio. The view of Adriatic sea with the mountains on the background is amazing and Anjela made us feel very welcome. On the moonless nights the sky is full of stars, and when the moon is full don't miss the reflection of the moon light on the sea.
Lumbarda is a quiet town, and this apartment is even more peaceful.
There is no formal beach, you just get in the water from the rocks. Sea is amazing, water visibility at least 5-6 meters.
There is a short 20-25 minute walk to the Lumbarda center, where we bought
groceries in the supermarket, and also fresh fruit and vegetables from the farmers stand.
In the morning there are a few local women who sell there stuff near the supermarket entrance, we bought eggs and goat cheese from them ( but it’s not always available).
Also in the morning there is a fish stand (with today's catch) near the port.
It was our first trip to Croatia, and I was surprised at how good Croatian wine is.
You can go to the winery, taste and/or buy Grk wine, if you like it. Or simply buy it from the supermarket. We bought wine in the winery which is located on the hill opposite to bell tower (tasting was free). And also had dinner there. Food, wine and view were very good.
In Lumbarda center you can rent kayaks, catamarans and windsurfing. We rented everything from "freestyle" windsurfing center. If you like to jump into the water there is pier with very deep water around it. To get there, go from Lumbarda center, pass the main port, go along the sea and you will see relatively big pier after the first sandy beach.
Also there are plenty of places to eat. Everywhere we went, food was very good and it cost us around $25-$40 US dollars for three main dishes and half a liter of house wine. We did not buy water. Drink from the tap all the time.
When you live in the "cozy" apartment it has the feel of a private home. At the same time Anjela and her son Boris, live upstairs and if you need anything you can always ask them. Wi-fi has strong signal in the apartment.
Overall, it is great place to unwind. We love it, and will try to go there as often as possible.
Thank you Anjela and Boris.
