“Family holiday”
Reviewed 17 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

The photos don't do this place justice in regard to showing how big this cottage actually is. The kitchen is huge, as is the lounge, which has two 3 seater sofas and an armchair. The master bedroom and the twin bed room are large, but the single room is very, very small. It is probably the best equipped cottage we have stayed in, with plenty of cutlery, utensils and crockery provided, and enough bath towels. A small hand soap in the bathrooms would have been nice. A seperate washing machine and tumble dryer is great, as is the seperate fridge and freezer. I would have dried my washing outside had a wet laundry basket been provided to carry my laundry to the line. The hot tub was great and very clean. There is off road parking for 1 car, and other vehicles can park in the front, or we were offered to park in the owners campsite if we prefered. There is quite a bit of traffic passing(some tractors and lorries) and horse riders, but my daughter parked her fiesta in the front and had no problems. Mr Besant was very pleasant and helpful, and his lovely daughter who works in the local indian restaurant looked after us well during a meal there one evening. We would return to Orchard Lea.

“Beautiful cottage however owner of the cottage ruined our experience.”
Reviewed 9 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Me and my family have just returned home from a 7 night break at this cottage. The Cottage was beautiful and very clean, we was welcomed with a bottle of wine which was lovley. Perfectly located cottage for a relaxing get away. However we have stayed at a lot of cottages over the years and this has to be by far the rudest owner. 5 nights into our weeks holiday my 7 year old niece entered the hot tub where she got a low voltage shock. The next day after returning to the cottage the owners had put a sign on the hot tub asking us not to use it. Within a hour the lady owner knocked the door explaining that we had caused the hot tub to shock us and break ourselves by wearing what looked like fake tan. However there was 3 ladies in our party, 2 of the ladies didn't enter the hot tub due to medical conditions and the 3rd does not wear fake tan. When trying to explain this to the owner she wouldn't allow us to explain, she made me feel very intimidated. Even if it was fake tan which it defiantly wasn't how can fake tan cause low voltage shocks?
It was unfortunate about the rude lady owner as this would of been 5 stars.

“Home from Home with the added bonus of a Hot Tub”
Reviewed 19 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We've stayed in a lot of different cottages over the years and this has to be the best so far, couldn't fault it at all. Excellently decorated cottage lots of space and room, lovely landlord and landlady for the week, couldn't do enough for us when we asked. Rooms were clean and comfortable, excellent facilities within the inside and outside of the cottage, as we loved to cook so we used the kitchen a lot. Excellent Hot Tub for those beginning of days or end of days after a day out, really helped after going horse riding for the day. Well worth the money and will defiantly recommend, and we will definitely be back sometime in the future and thats a MUST !!

Cottage is lovely, a real home from home. Everything from towels to toilet paper and washing powder was supplied. Very high standard of decor throughout the cottage. Owners were fantastic. Hot tub seated 8 and was a great addition to the house. Bottle of wine and cake on arrival were a nice touch too.
