The reception when you arrive at the hotel is outstanding. Warm, sincere, personal. Everything is very stylish and modern. The lounge and library are spectacular. Unfortunately the view out the Fuji side is uninspiring, we were there six days and never saw Fuji through the haze, just the fairly monotonous view of western Tokyo. City view rooms might have been better. The room is nicely appointed, but not particularly comfortable for hanging out and relaxing; there are chairs and a desk but very cold when the AC is on and hot when its not. But presumably you're not in Tokyo to sit in the hotel room. The bathroom similarly nicely appointed but felt cramped and not very private (pocket doors) compared to high-end properties elsewhere. And everything is expensive---food, drinks, spa---but it's Tokyo, so maybe that's expected. The walk to Shinjuku station is about 15 min, not bad, but a little far for quick trips. There is a shuttle to the station periodically throughout the day but it drops off at the north end of the station so can still be a hike to catch some of the lines. But the bottom line is the service is world class, the staff could not be more constantly, consistently accommodating and eager to serve.
