One of Tokyo's sweetest temptation dessert shops is the Shinjuku Takano Fruit Parlor located near the Narita Express Train Entrance in Shinjuku. Serving some of the most decadent dessert creations since 1885. This shop is a must visit when in Tokyo to keep your sweet tooth happy.
I tried the strawberry cream puff and strawberry parfait both were to die for! Expect to spend around Yen1,000 for 2 or 3 choices.

Very refreshing dessert. Healthy and not too sweet. Spacious and comfortable space for gathering. They offer fruits buffet on the same floor too.

This is a dessert place - don't stray into the purgatory of savory dishes here - you will be disappointed. The fresh fruit parfaits here are amazing - choose the most expensive seasonal fruit parfait on the menu and enjoy the ride. You may have to wait 15 minutes or so for a table, your bill will be $15-$20 for a single dessert, but you will reflect on it as one of the tastiest desserts you've ever had.

One of the better Japanese cafe serving Japanese seasonal fruits together with their ice cream.

Tried white strawberries for the very first time in my life. They looked pretty, contrasting nicely with the red strawberries, but they were a little sour compared to the latter (I simply love the red Japanese strawberries; they are always sweet and juicy!). The strawberry ice cream was refreshing too.

Unfortunately the experience was somewhat marred by the spotting of a tiny insect soon after someone in our group began eating his dessert. It was shocking, considering it was a high-end dessert parlour in clean and meticulous Tokyo, Japan! The dessert in question (¥1,944, with tax) was quickly replaced, with profuse apologies from the staff, and of course that particular item wasn't added to the bill.

Takano may have nice fruity desserts but Sembikiya really offers the best. Our cheeky Japanese friend puts it like this...Takano is to Tiffany & Co, as Sembikiya is to Harry Winston. LOL! What an amusing way to distinguish between the two brands!
