Best park ever you don't feel like you're in a park you feel like you are in a forest. It's amazing! My fav park in Japan.

If you are tired from the 30+ M busy Tokyo, this park is your golden opportunity to enjoy the Japanese gardening art or to visit a holy place. Please avoid the weekend days.

Yoyogi Park is a 134 acre green space near the Shibuya area of Tokyo full of walking trails, picnic areas, bike trails, etc … It’s a gorgeous place to relax and enjoy nature for a couple of hours before rejoining the hustle and bustle of the big city.

It is also home to the Meiji Shrine.

A great open space in the concrete jungle that is Tokyo, right next to the incredibly beautiful gardens of Meiji Jingu Shrine. There are walking/cycling tracks, playgrounds for children, ponds and fountains, grassy areas, tall and shady trees for picnics. Each season has a plant or tree that is at its prime here. The park is well-used by residents of Tokyo. Many arrive quite early on a Sunday morning to ‘stake-out’ their little patch for whatever gathering they have planned.
There are vans at the entrance where you can buy refreshments.

We went on a picnic gathering and we managed to fund a good place to sit down and relax, but also made new Japanese friends, everyone was very friendly !
