Me and my wife visited Ichiran, Shibuya in the morning for a quick breakfast.

This restaurant uses an automat for payment and selection of your dish and extras. Basically one noodle dish is offered which can be "configured" in many ways. This configuration, including spiciness, extra garlic, etc. takes place when you're seated.

The seats are in rows with walls between them, but you can collapse walls if you're together with someone.

The noodle soup (with extra garlic and extra spice) did its job beautifully! Very well tasting. I recommend this restaurant and can say that on a Sunday morning around 9-10 there is absolutely no queue!

Restaurant where you order you dish from vending kind of machine, you are directed to your own individual place, you give your orderticket to chef just seeing his hands, you get your delicious ramen according to your order and ramen is ready to be enjoyed.

My husband and I were escorted by our guide and she left us standing in a line that led downstairs to the tiniest restaurant with the most unique set up. We were not sure what we were doing and almost messed up our order. Basically, the line winds down to a vending machine with photos of food item that accompany the ramen. Once we punched our order, we had to insert the money and it dispensed our change. We then provided the ticket to a young man who indicated that we continue to wait in the line until there was a seat inside an even tinier room with slots. We barely fit inside and sat down facing a closed window which then opened to slide our food and drink in front of us. The stools were somewhat uncomfortable and it was slightly warm inside but we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the unique experience. Once we were done, we squeezed ourselves out of the tiny room and used their tiny bathroom before we walked up the stairs past the long line.

Just fun and great and the best darn ramen too. We went three times during a recent vacation in Tokyo, and we'd definitely return on our next visit.

Recently there are a lot of foreigners forming a line. Its not the best ramen in the house but its good. Its a chain ramen place so its everywhere. If you are a shy person but want to eat ramen this is the place because every seat is secluded from each other by a wall on the table (you can open the wall if you are with someone). I mean, in Japan women do not eat ramen alone (personally I think its chill) so I am not surprised that this place is popular. You can choose how you want your ramen to be cooked. If you want quick good ramen, this is the place. (my girl friend loves this place)
