There are many traditional businesses in Nihonbashi, as well as the original (and still magnificent) department stores (Mitsubishi and Takasimaya). It is the local home of the Japanese financial world, as well as the Tokyo home of several global Japanese pharmaceutical research corporations. If one must, there is Starbucks, and there are some other Western outposts, but, all of Japan is represented in the various shops and restaurants in Nihonbashi. The Nihonbashi bridge is Milepost 0 from which all roads radiate. On the bridge, look for the statues of the mythical Kirin, or take a river cruise from the closely adjacent shoreline.
