It’s easy to find. I waited in line for 20 minutes, not too long. We didn’t know how to Order as we didn’t know the difference between the different meals. So we ordered the one that costs 1000 and the one that costs almost 3000. The cheaper one has a thinner meat and it’s drier. The more expensive one is thicker and has more fat in it, making it more juicy. To be honest, both were delicious. If you are short on budget, the one that costs 1000 is really good already. And if you have some extra cash, you can try the more expensive dish. I recommend this restaurant!

Came here due to good reviews. Food was really tasty. Three of us each chose different dishes and all were generous and delicious. It’s up to you to add some flavour (sauce, salt or spice). Pork was so tender and juicy though.

They were very helpful with the offering of an English menu with pictures. We each had a dish for around 1000¥ (about £7) and were pretty full after that!

Easy to find. Down the road next to Abercrombie and Fitch. Opposite Ginza Six.

Very good place if u walk around Ginza, very close to Ginza Six. I only tried one dish. It doesnt need any reservations, just walk in. I would recommend for a good quick lunch if you are in the area.

One of the dishes that you have to try in Japan is tonkatsu. No, I didn’t just misspell tonkotsu, which is a pork bone based broth most often associated with ramen. Rather, tonkotsu refers to deep fried pork cutlets which are covered in a crispy panko coating. Our first introduction to Ginza Bairin was actually on our trip to Hawaii where they have a restaurant called Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin Hawaii.

This particular shop is their main Ginza location and quite popular. As with most restaurants in Japan, it’s not very spacious… after a short wait, we were ushered to seats at the bar where we could watch the cooks prepare all of the meals.

The Shrimp Katsu Don (1150円) is a thing of beauty and balance with the savory egg, light shredded cabbage, and deep miso soup.

We also wound up ordering the Special Katsu Don (2000円) which had a soft-cooked egg resting on top of a pork cutlet. The pork cutlet, as expected, had a beautiful crispy panko exterior and retained a juicy centre. When mixed with the runny yolk…. mmmm!

If you happen to enjoy crispy, deep fried meats, you’ve got to stop by Ginza Bairin and try their tonkatsu.

A very very solid tonkatsu located conveniently just off the main street in Ginza. Went during the off peak periods and would recommend doing the same. The queue for the restaurant never seems to end. The tonkatsu here is very well done not quite as well as the more famous tokyo staples like Butagumi or maisen but certainly high standard.
