“Definitely cosy, great Christmas retreat, but not without imperfections.”
Reviewed 2 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Stayed at Little Terraces for a few days over Christmas. The owners made it welcome with decorations and a bottle of prosecco, which was welcome after a long drive. However Sue and Simon gave us conflicting information on obtaining the keys from the safe and the house was freezing on arrival. Inside the cottage was clean apart from some dead woodlice behind the sofa and some of the condiments are years out of date. The bed was very comfortable, the top terrace was treacherously slippery, so wouldn't recommend climbing up during winter, but the views are great! Downtown is outside the new forest national park so you have to travel but it's worth it. We liked the village pub, but struggled to get wood for the wood burner, without driving to find a garage as the co-op didn't have any for a few days. Overall a relaxing retreat but could be made even better!

Thank you for your feed back. We are sorry that you didn't pick up the emails, texts and messages we left with details of the key safe code, and that you were mislead by the dates on the spice jars which we regularly refill. Apologies for the wood lice, in an old cottage they sometimes appear, however thoroughly we clean. The cottage heats up very quickly with the additional fan heater provided. We hope you put the radiators on permanent if needed during your stay and used the wood, coal and kindling we leave for free as well as the additional fuel in the box in the shed provided for a small charge. Little Terraces is just 5 minutes from the New Forest, hopefully you enjoyed the trade off, the ability to walk to the pubs, shops and cafes of Downton. We are glad you had a relaxing time and wish you a happy 2017.

“Fantastic little find”
Reviewed 3 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Fantastic little cottage in the New Forest. Spotlessly clean and a proper home from home. Comfy, warm and within easy walking distance into Downton (nearest pub 5 mins walk). Kitchen equipped to excellent level and a lovely view from the terraced decking at the rear. Comes with private parking for one vehicle. Lovely friendly hosts.

“Great location and great cottage!”
Reviewed 27 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed for 5 days and could not fault the cottage. Everything needed was provided - even fresh flowers and a bottle of bubbly on arrival. Sue even went out her way and did some washing for us - very appreciated! Lovely village and friendly people. Easy access to the new forest. Would highly recommend.
