“A let down!!”
Reviewed 20 April 2012

The food is the best thing about this place - some of the staff were rude and its hardly relaxing when the noise from the other guests keeps you awake throughout the night and nothing is done about it!!
Organisation is terrible when you have certain things in your package paid for and then they try and bill you for it again and although the place is very new, its looking quite tired in places.
During our stays, we have heard a lot of complaining amongst people.
Everytime we have been, it has been one thing after another so won't be going back!!

Dear Guest

Thank you for sharing your comments with us. We take all feedback very seriously and act on comments made. Lifehouse has been taken over recently by a new company who are currently reviewing all areas of the business. Systems are being carefully looked at to ensure that our guests receive a seemless and relaxing experience.
There are a number of projects around the building which will be started over the coming weeks, the changes will be positive for Lifehouse and will make for a much better Guest experience.

We hope you do return to Lifehouse in the future to see the changes that have been made.

Best wishes

The facilities and surroundings are incredible. However, the service was awful. We were refused breakfast at 9.35 as they stopped serving at 9.30, despite the fact we had been waiting for 10mins to be served! Throughout the day when getting drinks or finding help the staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful.

Shame because if the staff were friendlier and more accommodating it would have been perfect.

I have just got back from a 2 night stay 15 and 16 April, and it was very relaxing indeed. the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We did have a few problems with the room , hairdryer not wroking and no shower gel but staff were very quick to put these right . I loved the valet parking which is great if the weather is bad and it saves dragging cases and bags around. It felt like the staff couldnt do enough for you.
I attended 2 classes and Shelley was fantastic . I did Zumba and Aqua. The regular memebrs were all very friendly too.

I feel that the Spa area could be improved upon by having a water machine in the area by the pool as its good to have a drink whilst relaxing by the pool and you do de hydrate after all the swimming , sauna etc. It would also be nice have fruit more freely available other than just at the reception area. Towels are plentiful and the pool area is kept very clean .

The room we had was lovely and the beds were very comfy too, with a greta veiw of the courtyard and lake . WE had a lovely walk around the grounds which will be great when they are finished and enjoyed tranquility of it all.

Breakfast was ok , but I feel that as its a Spa it would be nice to more than just orange juice on offer, apple and cranberry would have been good. More fresh fruit too i.e grapefruit, different types of melon . The raspberies were good . the staff were all very helpful at breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. Its great to be able to eat whilst wearing yr robe it adds to the relaxation .

The massage chairs were great as were all the ares in which you can relax and chill out all so peaceful.

Overall very good but with some minor improvements could be fantastic.

I stayed at this spa in late March on a Sunday and it was truly beautiful. Apparently this spa took 13 years to build and it really does reflect this. The location is idyllic, away from everything and in the middle of the countryside. Every aspect of the building is architecturally beautiful. All amenities are built around it, providing the guest with spectacular views. The main spa area is wonderfully designed with the steam rooms and sauna situated opposite a view of the landscape outside. It is a moment of beauty being cleansed in the sauna and looking out to the greenery outside.

However, the two reasons I have marked it as very good as opposed to excellent is that the menu was set and my friend and I were not impressed with what was on offer. We asked if we could just order sides and they quite literally tried to charge us the price of the full set menu (£28) despite the fact the sides were about £3. As it was isolated, we felt bound by what they were offering food wise. Additionally, the exercises classes on offer have very limited spaces. My friend and I wanted to do a spin class. We were told it was fully booked but found there was only 7-8 bikes. I may sound picky but the service advertised was not the service provided in this sense. Apart from these two niggling issues it was a tranquil and relaxing stay. Recommended at least once.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and the food ok although the tinned fruit at breakfast was a let down. I was disappointed with the spa. The spa looked tired and missing the finishing touches to make it special. I had an overnight stay but poorly scheduled treatments (no choice was given) ment the experienced ended up being rushed.
The grounds are clearly the big selling point and were lovely. But overall not somewhere I would be in a rush to visit again
