Hotel El Mirador de Fuerteventura is a nice hotel located close to Playa Blanca and the airport. The noise from the airport was negligible. The hotel is renovated with really cozy rooms with sea view. On the first floor of the hotel, situated is a very good restaurant. Unfortunately, breakfasts were poor and not so tasty. The hotel personnel were nice and helpful, but the atmosphere in the hotel was a bit chaotic as the hotel was newly open and not everybody was familiar with their duties.
The biggest problem was the attitude of the hotel management to a theft that happened the second day of our stay. Our personal stuff, valued to € 150, disappeared from our hotel room. We immediately reported the problem at the reception desk. Nonetheless, for the rest of our stay (5 days), no one from the management bothered to contact us with an apology.

As there is no fair detailed review on Trip Advisor for this hotel, I decided to write one. (I have more photo’s but they won’t load).

I checked in early Dec 2017 for 7 nights. I feel that at this time the guests were guinea pigs, in so much as the hotel is being renovated, and new staff were being trained, and systems put in place ready for the busy season in 2018. Everything closed down in the hotel at 10-30pm, and there were not many guests. It was annoying that we couldn’t even get a drink after 10-30pm, it was however a good experience overall.

The Hotel is 5 minutes from the airport. 3.7km from ‘Puerto de Rosario’ (€8 by taxi) which although is the capitol, is very quiet. Just down the motorway about 10 km (€20 by taxi) is the livelier town of Caleta de Fuste.

I am informed by a local that this hotel was a failed business years ago called ‘The Parador de Fuerteventura’ and then it became home to the Spanish police. The hotel has now been taken over by the ‘Mirador’ Group and is undergoing a total renovation and therefore should really be classed as a 3 star until things are completely finished. The renovation is in a modern style and of a very high quality, evident that they are currently spending a lot of €€’s on this project. They have refurbished the rooms, reception, public areas, restaurant and small bar area to a high standard. They are building and renovating what seems to be a huge function room, terrace bar and outside area to compliment the what is already there. The beach is a few steps away.
The staff are very courteous and professional and the rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean and spacious with good air conditioning. The WiFi is good everywhere at around 20mb download.
The restaurant food is of a high standard, well presented and reasonably priced, and the huge dining room windows offer a great ocean view. The bar food and drink is very good and also excellent value. I think eventually the plan for this hotel is to hit a higher end of the tourism market and probably upgrade the rating to 5 star. I would estimate that the current work going on in the hotel will be finished by early 2018.

But......and there always is one.....
Before I booked this hotel, I checked reviews on TA and other sites, and what I fail to understand is that not one review mentioned the fact that the hotel is situated very near the end of the busy runway of Fuerteventura International Airport. I found that after a few days though, you didn’t notice the aircraft taking off and landing, in fact it was quite entertaining.
There is a €10 deposit for the room safe key, and safe rental is €3 a day....I find this a petty and ridiculous charge for a hotel of this caliber.
There are only one or two English language channels on the TV.
There is currently no useable swimming pool at the hotel, but my guess is that they intend to develop the hotel grounds in the future incorporating a decent pool area. If this is the case, I don’t see anything happening until 2019.

All in all, this is a ‘good’ hotel which will be a ‘great’ hotel very soon. It’s position definitely necessitates renting a hire car or you will be ‘fleeced’ by taxis. It is currently not a hotel catering for children. It is a hotel for relaxation and chilling out. We enjoyed our stay here and look forward to returning in the future.

Close to the airport and the highway it can be easily reached. It is not that far from Corralejo and Calete de Fuste. It would be practical if the name was displayed more visible. The rooms are modern, clean and confortable and we had nice seaview. The service in the restaurant needs some more attention. Some are professional but others need to learn. The quality of the food is average. The cheeseboard is very good.
Good hotel for one or two nights to start your holidays at Fuerteventura.

Wow!! We ate in the restaurant of this hotel on 21st October. The place itself is in a wonderful setting with stunning views over the Atlantic. The food was absolutely fantastic. It was served to us by the most attentive, friendly waiters I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I highly recommend this establishment.
It’s a 5* restaurant with 5* food and 5* staff. Just perfect!!
