Our group consisted of 7 couples and went there for a family leisure trip. First of all this is not a Four Star Resort as claimed by all the travel agents & website. It is a mediocre resort. Only good thing is that it is spread out in ample space. Rooms are okay not even matching 2 star resorts. Food was terrible and un eatable. Our experience was shocking and I would never advice any one to stay over here. Inspite of repeated complaints, there was worst service or courtesy available. The food was so bad that even dogs will not eat the Rotis / Breads offered to us. Our kids had to starve for meals togather.

Since we were a big group and almost every one staying over there was complaining, the resort was compelled to refund us 50% of our booking amount after a long fight over two days. Our vacation trip was spoiled.

NEVER STAY HERE .............

Room Tip: Just don't go to this place.

I was travelling around Goa and only stayed at this place for a night, on a bed and breakfast rate.
Unfortunately, some of the other reviewers' comments are still appropriate, although overall I thought the place was pleasant enough.
I found it was easiest to walk out the front gate and walk down the main road to the beach, rather than try to find my way through the "official" route, which was poorly marked. The room I got is best described as "scabby". There was nothing fundamentallly wrong with it, but it could have done with some serious refurbishment. Still, there was no exposed wiring, which is good for India.
Breakfast is until 10.30. And they mean it. Food will be removed by 10.30. If you haven't got everything you want by about 10.15 then tough. It's gone.
The place definitely has potential, and some of the common areas seemed to be quite pleasant. Staff were mixed. Some good, some bad. I wouldn't want to spend more than a couple of days here though.
Incidentally, the beach is great.

I agree with a couple of guests reviews and quite disappointed with the beach access and not even a view of the beach. Their website portrays a false image of dining on the beach. Poor menu and food or snack foods were pricey. "...does not seem to cater so well for international guests on an all inclusive tariff." We found the hotel taxis were far more expensive than those in Colva. Group events often appeared to take priority over holiday guests. Fortunately the beach shacks near by had greater variety of food and sunbeds on the beach..

We stayed here for two weeks at the end of 2011. My wife and I travel frequently and this is one of the strangest hotels we have stayed in.

Generally it is well situated being just more than 5 minutes away from the fabulous beach and approx 15 minutes brisk walk along the beach to Colva to the North. The shops in Colva were a good place to buy your rupees. The hotel caters for its majority of Indian guests well, but does not seem to cater so well for international guests on an all inclusive tariff. Other than the beach shacks, there are very few facilities local to the hotel.

The food in particular was not varied. Although breakfast was fine with a good choice, lunch was mainly curried dishes with perhaps a reasonable soup on offer. Dinner often had a small selection of European dishes but over two weeks was very repetitive. There were for example three desserts provided each night – ice cream, a sponge cake and one other. If you LOVE curry this is the place for you. If you like curry like me you may find that after a week you’ve had enough!

Fortunately the beach shacks near at hand have a much greater variety of food on offer. Its not as if the hotel cant do it as on some of the gala evenings the grill and pasta stations offer super food. There was a gala dinner once each week served by the pools. Perhaps they should send the chef to visit the Donna Sylvia in Cavalossim to see how an international hotel can cater for its guests.

There are two pools linked together which are very pleasant. There were approx 27 sunbeds available but it was never an issue to find two free. There is a games room and a small but reasonably equipped gym. So much more could be made in the evening of the pool area. It would not be impossible to place chairs around the poolside tables rather than the sunbeds which are needed during the day.

The AI drinks were fine and available till 11pm. Kingfisher beer and local spirits of decent quality included whisky, rum, gin, vodka, brandy etc. Drinks that are not on the AI Package are expensive, a martini was approx £4 and sparkling wine which was a reasonable drink was £22 a bottle. The same stuff was half this price in the beach shacks. The snacks between meals at the coffee shop which were supposedly available in the coffee shop never did appear. The coffee shop appeared to be the veranda of the dining room.

Hotel rooms were good, although our room door overlooked the maintenance yard the room was spacious and clean. The only issue we had was that the regular interruption of the power supply set off the alarms in the yard which were not conducive to a good nights sleep. Room numbers 119 to 124 are adjacent to the yard. The view from the lower rooms with these numbers is not inspiring. 219 – 224 are similarly situated but they have balconies with a view over the hotel wall. It was good to get a copy of the local paper delivered to the room daily. The deluxe rooms have a shower and no bath but this is quite clear in the room description.

The complementary massage was a nice surprise and carried out by most professional staff. The grounds were well cared for and all the staff we found generally very pleasant.

One aspect that I found very irritating is that the hotel is a well used conference venue. During the early part of our stay The Karma Endura Rally stayed there, there was a University of Omega course lasting several days and the local Moher Dairy had a training course. We even had a soccer team in residence. These events often appeared to take priority over holiday guests who were shuffled around facilities to suit the needs of the courses in the hotel. On one night for example the entertainment was not allowed to start by the pool as there was ‘a small course finishing their team building activities’. By mid afternoon on another day the top pool was surrounded by tables for the Dairy gala dinner! The lower pool was surrounded by small groups of dairymen with large white flip charts planning how to increase revenue for the dairy. I used to go to work to experience this sort of atmosphere – it’s the last thing you expect on holiday. On the day the soccer team and the dairymen were in residence we were sent to the Tawa Restaurant for breakfast as the main dining room was full – Tawa did not normally open until the evening. The fresh breakfast chef was cooking for two restaurants, and the hotel was totally unprepared for the ensuing chaos. Toaster not working, no saucers available, no milk with coffee etc

We were told the week before we arrived was similar as the hotel was hosting weddings. The result of this mix makes Basil Fawlty look competent. If you wish to avoid the mid day sun and enjoy the pool in late afternoon by this time the poolside is being frequently set up for gala events.

We found the hotel taxis were far more expensive than those in Colva. The tuk tuks are even better value for short journeys. These can be picked up at Colva Circle or by the beach turning right from the hotel gate. Taxi fares in Goa have increased dramatically in recent years.

Anjuna market is a popular excursion and again this can be done by coach from Colva for a fraction of the excursion cost of the tour operators. Tickets are available in several shops although the coach is far below European standards.

For the adventurous the local buses also leave from Colva, Margao is easily reached for a few pence.

If you need spectacles take your prescription with you. Lots of opticians in Margao and I bought single vision prescription sunglasses for under £20.

Our flight left Goa in the early hours of the morning but we had to vacate our room for 11am. To keep the room until the evening we were quoted a fee of approx £50.

This hotel has many positive attributes however their priorities are confused and as a result they make a muddle of many things they do. If they want to become a truly international hotel the management needs a much sharper focus and the chefs need to get their act together. On the upside the AI is good value for money even though the snack facility did not appear to exist.
