Our second year at this site for the Camping and Caravanning Club Winter Sun rally, and again we stayed for 10 weeks from mid December to the end of February.  It's a big site, very neatly laid out and some might find it too big and too formal.  Pitches are a good size, we had a superpitch which is double size, around 8m x 16m, with water, drainage and some UK TV.  Small hedges between the pitches act as dividers but don't give shade so are great at this time of year.  The disadvantage is that they don't act as windbreaks so it's a bit breezy sometimes.

The shower blocks are great and there are loads of them. Regularly cleaned, plenty of hot water in the power showers and underfloor heating.  Plenty of washing machines and dryers, loads of pot washing space although it's outside so a bit breezy on windy days.

The site also offers a host of attractions, with bar and restaurant hosting live music once or twice every week.  Food in the bar is fine, the restaurant is a bit indifferent most of the time.  The site also organises trips to local events and people onsite organise boules competitions etc.  There are loads of sports facilities with a good gym, pool and spa, paddle and tennis courts and loads of boules pitches.  Walking in the local hills is good and it's possible to cycle to the coast without really using roads at all.

The rally is brilliant, great stewards who work really hard to keep everyone entertained and there's  wide range of activities from dance lessons and crafting through games and sports to dinner dances and even more live entertainment.

From the site, it's not far into Catral for those with cars or cycles but a bit of a walk otherwise.  Loads of decent restaurants and bars on offer plus a market and some useful shops.  It's less than 15 miles to the coast and a host of shopping opportunities, food and everything else.

This is really just a review of the Tahiti Suite. The camp site as stated by other people is large well kept and managed. We were unfortunate with the weather. Very windy and a couple of days of rain. As we couldn't spend time on the verandah because of the weather we were in the accommodation quite a lot. For the price it leaves a lot to be desired, What appears to be a static caravan or similar with the addition of a shaded decking area is a bit misleading. The actual building can be described as no more than a shed and built as such. It has never been seen by the likes of a mobile home or caravan designer. The lighting is very poor. There is only one mirror and that is in the bathroom at such a low height that my 6'3" frame was bent over to look in it.There are no wardrobes only shelves. There is a dishwasher, which is totally unnecessary and a waste of space, because there was so little crockery etc. There were only two of us, a couple of pensioners. There were 3 bunk beds in the second bedroom that looked so cramped even for children that there would have been constant battles for them to move around. The shower in the bathroom had no separate light and the dark surroundings made visibility very poor.No shelf in shower so scrabbling around in dark to pick up toiletries from floor. The curtains had been cut by infants - see attached photos. No kettle, hair dryer or toaster in shed(sorry suite) at first. Luckily we had friends on site in caravan with spare items. 3 days later found out had to get electrical items from reception although no mention of this at check in.

Room Tip: Bring your own caravan

I want to camp here in a tent, can you do this? Would you recommend it?I know the place is great with a lovely pool and gym but I love camping and want to know if tenting is ok here? I have all the proper gear and a big tent.

This is the 3rd winter we have spent at Marjal - February to April - and we can’t fault it. It is well maintained and all of the public areas are spotlessly clean. Reception are super efficient - multilingual and always calm. There is an indoor pool, spa gym and also treatment rooms. There are 2 lovely outdoor pools for later on in the year. We enjoy the bar, restaurant and outside seating areas and also make use of the well stocked shop. We are already booked for 8 weeks in 2019.

I have to say you would have to go a long way to get better than this campsite. It has everything including friendly helpful staff. However if we went there again we would NEVER go through the camping and caravan club. Plus the camping and caravan club are separated down the bottom of the campsite which I found a bit clicky. I would much rather be with the Spanish who are the friendliest of people noisy and family friendly. It was unfortunate that we had to leave early that’s life and the club would not give us one penny back whereas the campsite I believe would have. There is entertainment, swimming pools ,bar, restaurant , even a dog shower . Absolutely brilliant campsite for all ages . Highly recommend
