We had an included trip from our hotel in Calpe on a chilly Spring day.
We had 4 hours free time to explore.
Unfortunately it was a Sunday so we could not go inside the Town Hall.
There was a Tourist Office open in one of the downstairs rooms in the building.
Not particularly welcoming unfortunately- maybe the language barrier?
The area around was the historic centre and was interesting with various restaurants.
Across the roads was the mosaic waved prom next to the marina.
To one side , 10 minutes was the Ramblas.
Various buses served the area too.

Thank Susan B

You can take a short walk in first and second floor for free. A good selection of impressive paintings, great relief of Dali and goid amount of history of Alicante. Recommended when hanging around old town! Very close to art museums Maca and Mubag.

This superb Baroque style town hall was built on the site of the former town hall in the eighteenth century and was designed by architect Lorenzo Chapuli. It really is a beautiful building in an intriguing setting with the square in front, and water feature, and with it's superb twin towers at each corner. It's right in the heart of the city and must be seen at night when it is lit up. We were there early evening as it was starting to get dark and you could see how the lights added an extra feature. Pity we didn't get inside as I understand it houses some excellent artwork too, including a golden Dali sculpture, I think. Still I like the design of this place. Looks great.

On a recent visit to Alicante one of the first places we went to see was the lovely historic Town Hall. This significant town building with it’s two high towers is very grand outside and inside . Meeting are still held here , one can imagine the important business that has been settled here over the generations. Once you enter their is a great staircase that takes you to the rooms above that are beautifully decorated with some paintings by famous artists. Red carpet adorns the floor while chandeliers hang from above giving that feeling of opulent.. Entry is free and it is open everyday , worth a visit.
