This was our second stay at Cherry Bank and we enjoyed it just as much as we did 4 years ago. Lovely clean, comfortable cottage, located in a peaceful village. There are plenty of good walks nearby but for the non-walkers there are loads of lovely towns/villages worth a visit such as Skipton (a favourite), Leyburn and Grassington. The Wensleydale Creamery is also worth a visit. Would defnitely recommend for a peaceful break.
We stayed a week in the cottage and found it absolutely ideal for our needs. The location was right in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales and couldn’t have been better placed. The cottage had everything we could possibly want, was lovely and cosy, a real home from home. We chose the Yorkshire Dales as our location for a week of birding and had great views of Black Grouse, Short-eared Owl, Pied Flycatcher, Redstart, Golden Plover, etc etc. Plus spent a lovely afternoon looking at a Red Squirrels, which we’d walked to along a public footpath. The landscape was fabulous with many happy hours spent exploring the countryside.
All in all it was the perfect location for the most perfect of week’s.
A beautiful very well equipped cottage on the green in bainbridge, Hugh and Wendy really have thought of everything! It is warm and cozy, clean and very comfy beds . The location is a great base for exploring, there is lots of information in the cottage for everything you need. We have thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We definitely recommend and will return in the future
Very good lodge/holiday home. Very well kept and looked after with loads of leaflets / suggestions of things to do local to the area. With a car we travelled to Aysgarth Falls very close by, also Castle Bolton, Hawes, West Burton Falls and lots more! Good fish and chip shop van visits Bainbridge green on a Thursday night, would recommend that, local pub was very quiet and not that inviting, locally lack of good shops and petrol stations but we did not expect an abundance of Lidls or Tescos in the area, instead you make do or go to Spar's in Hawes. Nice area, good for relaxing! Ideal if you want to escape the hustles and bustles and cosy holiday home.
Bainbridge has a great pub dating from 1445. There is a tea room and village shop that provides limited items within a residential home. Easy access to walks by foot and plenty more with a short drive, the Pennine Way is close by. Hawes and Leyburn have shops and small supermarkets. Wensleydale Creamery was an interesting and tasty visit.
