“Sicilian tradition”
Review of Regaleali

Reviewed 24 October 2017 via mobile

If you are looking for a mixture of tradicion and wine in Sicily this is the right place.
A great location fully immersed in the Sicilian countryside, so quite and amazing buildings. I had many times this wine so it is indeed very good but the experience to be there was great!
Next Time in advance I'll make a reservation for the tour!

We, my sister and I, were greeted by a most fantastic Lady in Palermo. She even gave e us two tickets to an outstanding show outside of the Massimo theater. A week later, we arrived at Regaleali and were treated like princesses. Beautiful house, exquisite food, gorgeous views of vineyards and olive trees and a personal care of the hostess of Regaleali.
All of Sicily impressed us, but the stay and treat of Regaleali was somethings v very special. Don't miss it.

Wine sold loose from a petrol pump style dispenser. Just over 1 euro a litre. Same wine bottled just over 5 euros. I bought 3 bottles. Great wine. Great location in the countryside, but close to Vallelunga town. Surrounded by vineyards. Locals come and buy the wine loose in large containers. Accommodation provided if you want to holiday there. Would go again.

We had a driver pick us up at our hotel in Agrigento. Roberto was wonderful since it was an hour and a half drive. We had a car but would never have found the estate or been able to enjoy the beautiful countryside. We had a fantastic tour of the winery. Marta was full of passion for her work and loved her job. After the tour we had lunch with wine pairings. We started with appetizers in the courtyard with a sparkling Rose. The appetizers were amazing. Fried sage. Yum! Who knew. Ricotta and Sausage puff pastry. Fried green beans. And flat bread with chick peas, basil and oil oil. Everything was sourced from the estate. Awesome. We moved inside to a beautiful dining room. For the first course we enjoyed homemade raviolis with a wonderful Chardonnay. My husband is not fond of Chardonnays in general but loved this one. High praise indeed. Our second course was chicken with potatoes and vegetables from the garden, of course with a Red Murri Nero D'Avola. Delicious. Dessert was cannoli homemade. We had a sweet Diamonte D'Almerita. Then an espresso. This is a must visit winery. Do a private tour as we did. An absolutely fantastic day.
