Just finished a superb meal at Riso Amaro. We are in Italy for a couple of weeks and came to stay with our friends in Fondi who couldn't recommend the restaurant enough, and with reason.
Fantastic range of local home made dishes, ranging from tomato infused jellies, to incredibly crispy salt cod balls, then red mullet layered with aubergine puree accompanied by pineapple jelly through to the best dish of all meaty white fish with porcini mushrooms. Talk about an explosion and ranges of flavours. The smallest of additions give the biggest flavours like the thin shards of lemon and the tiny jellies which add layers of complexion and intensity.
In relation to a meal of this quality in the UK it would cost at least double so value for money is right up there too. Even when accompanied with two bottles of fantastic wine and numerous bottles of water our bill for four was only just over €200 which I think is incredible.
And just one more thing the kids who are 1 & 3 were welcomed with open arms and when our eldest started getting a bit bored they found some toys for her to play with.
I can't recommend the place enough and would happily go back tomorrow for the meat course menu.
