Owner description: William's Den is a new and exciting adventure attraction, giving children the chance to connect with nature and get active as they explore a custom designed complex that brings the great outdoors inside. It's a unique environment, inside and out, where children can play, explore, run, climb, build dens and learn, all in an open, rural and natural setting.

I took my three children ages 7, 10 and 11 years. My youngest was expecting to be able to make dens as per the pictures on the website. The 'den building' is basically an already built frame which children can place the very neat and polished sticks on. My son couldn't do it as it had already been done by some other kids. The indoor play area is a typical indoor play area but built out of wood. It became busy full of children of all ages. There is not nearly enough seating for parents so they were sat inside the actually climbing area. So many adults were holding scolding hot coffees in there, it was unbelievable. Small babies were crawling around unsupervised. It was too crowded but freezing outside. The outdoor area is not fantastic. I paid £10.50 for each child and £8 for myself and we spun it out for 1.5 hours but this was too long really.

We waiting half an hour for the food to arrive after ordering. The pizza was good but the jacket potato tasted old!

Not very good value for money. Yorkshire Wildlife Park has the same outdoor play equipment but much more of it, plus other play areas and all of the animals for a similarly priced day out yet you could spend 10 hours in Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

Williams Den is over rated and not worth the money. The 'tree house ' pictures you see on the website are not outside - its in door.

Got there early to avoid the rush. The indoor play area is good. Outside is very large with swings etc. Nice cafe, restaurant and bbq area. Food was fresh and nice. Slight nag was waiting over 30 minutes just to be served at the outside food hatch to order our bbq food. Queue was only about 5 deep when we got in. I hope that in the future they add more things to it. It was good for a couple of hours, but not much seating around the indoor play area.

We visited on a quiet, slightly overcast Wednesday, but had the absolute most fun! We ventured outside as soon as we arrived, while the sun was peeking out and the adults were running from one area to the next just as much as the children. There was lots to do and see and the mud didn't put anyone off! We went inside to the tree house area and sent hours running up and down. The kids (aged 4 &2) loved the sandpit area and the indoor stream. We stopped off at the cafe, which was nice if a little limited on choice. All in all; a fun time was had by all.

We’ve been many times, our son has an annual pass and I’m about to get one. He absolutely loves coming to WD and the experience is always hugely positive!

Both the indoor and outdoor areas are fantastic and there is lots to do. We often eat dinner at the Den too and the food is great and generally good value for money.

For those people complaining there is not enough seating, out your stuff in a locker and go and play with your kids! That’s why you pay what you do! It’s supposed to be a shared experience!

We visited here with our 4 year old and 7 month old on a cold and windy Sunday. It made the outside activities pretty much redundant as everybody stayed inside. We did venture outside and there were zip wires my daughter loved. A couple of things to climb on. We were a little underwhelmed with what was on offer but perhaps with a warmer day these activities would maybe entertain for longer than they did.
The inside play frame was busy with very limited seating for adults and only wooded bricks to sit on. Not ideal when one parent needs to stay to watch a baby and feed them etc.
I agree that this is something a little different than the usual soft play and my daughter enjoyed playing in the sand and water. It was good fun exploring and climbing.
The restaurant was good. Service and food were of a good standard.
Would I return? If it was a warm day then probably. However their current pricing is expensive. We paid nearly £30 and there are other attractions in the area which are much better value with inside and outside space as they offer more than what’s on offer here. If they reduced the price I’d think of visiting more regularly but perhaps Williams den may get overlooked due to this.
