Stayed here for one night while walking along the coast path and was dissapointed after having such good value on the previous hotels.

I booked a single and that's what I got, it was tiny with a very small shower. The room had tea making facilities and a tv. Both an afterthought and hard to use. If you wanted to watch tv you would need to sit on the end of the bed.

I walked around the centre early in the evening and had resigned myself to eating in the hotel as everything seemed closed but it was really standard pub grub and looking at the food people were eating I decided to go out for another walk and I am glad I did. The Smugglers kitchen was open and I had the best meal I have had for ages there. Plus a large G&T for £4 and a really nice Italian red to go with my slow cooked Ragu.

Breakfast at the hotel was very basic with little choice apart from the full English .

Staff were pleasant but the hotel is a bit of a time warp and things have moved on a lot.
Even at under £40 a night this was not good value.

Room Tip: I would ask to see them first.

Nice hotel, food very good in the restaurant. Room a little small but adequate for our stay. breakfast good but could do with a range of pastries for those not requiring a cooked breakfast. Excellent location for exploring the area and good parking.

Room Tip: Good value plus parking available

We stopped here for a drink before going on to the Smugglers Kitchen for dinner. Beer was great and atmosphere fine. Slightly old school but had so much charm, kind of a pub before the invention of the gastro pub (if that makes sense). Saw the food coming out and it looked great, lots of happy diners and locals. In the end we had a terrible meal at the Smugglers Kitchen and wish we had stayed put!!

Good location and great beet on tap. Friendly customers happy to chat. Sunday breakfast sitting outside on a good day is just perfect. Prices for bar food reasonable. Great place to,sit and watch local activities.

As always a great Carvery with turkey and beef on offer this week. Plenty of fabulous roast potatoes and cheesey leeks were piled on my generous plate. We always visit when we can and get there early.
