Bicky and her daughter and son were all lovely and made us feel so welcome. The hotel itself was in a great location - overlooking the sea, five minutes away from the little beachs and shops/restaurants etc. Also, the stage were the dancing and competitions etc for the Easter Island annual festival was only a couple of minutes walk away too which was an added bonus!

The room was fine - spacious with a little fridge we could put drinks in to keep them cold. There was a TV but it only had two channels and was fuzzy - we weren't bothered though as we dont go away to sit in a hotel room and watch TV. The little cabanas are set in beautiful gardens and each have their onw little table and chairs outside the terraces to sit out on. We were really happy with this hotel. The only thing that was a bit of a negative was that we had ants in our room. Luckily they werent on our bed but there was a second single bed in the room and they had set up shop on that so if we had needed to use the second bed it would have been an issue but our bed was clear and fine. We just had to watch were we put things and make sure we didnt accidentally put any clothes or anything on the second bed. Plus I don't really think this is a bad relfection of the hotel because it was a cabana and ants get inside cabanas/chalets in lots of tropical countries so I'm sure ants were all over the island's cabanas!

Breakfast was lovely - meat, cheese, bread rolls and a freshly cooked frittata/omlette thing made by the maid. It conisted of onions corn, egg and spinach.

Also nice to be picked up and taken to the airport by Bicky. On arrival she gave us a flower necklace made from fresh flowers and on departure a shell necklace she made from shells herself! A lovely touch!

From the moment of being picked up at the airport, through the great breakfast, clean basic rooms, but with excellent oscillating fan that made it perfect, to chatting with the wonderful friendly instructive and helpful staff, to sadly saying goodbye as I was given a lift back to the airport, I was thoroughly looked after and felt very much "at home" in this distant remote island.
Thank you for making my stay so great!

We stayed here in December 2011 and enjoyed our nights here. It's about a 10 minute walk into town and the owners will pick you up and drop you off at the airport.

The room was fairly basic - en suite, small fridge and TV, nice comfortable bed. Nothing matches but that's a minor detail. The floors are kept extremely clean with litres of bleach - on returning each day we had to air the room a bit as the smell of the chemicals was so strong! Nonetheless we appreciated this - on our walks through Easter Island we saw all sorts of cockroaches, beetles, ants, bugs and nasties, so it's clear that regular disinfecting is the only way to keep these creatures out of bedrooms - something that Mana Nui manages extremely well.

Breakfast each day consisted of tea or coffee, fresh fruit juice, bread, jam, cheese and ham and usually some kind of omelette or pastry. It was nice and kept you ticking over til lunchtime - my other half thought breakfast could be a bit bigger, eg. supplemented by yoghurt. However, for the price, it was dine, and everything is squeaky clean.

Other reviewers have commented about the thinness of the walls, which we can agree with. Unfortunately we had a large family of small and very disruptive children staying next door to us, with toddlers running up and down the patio at 6am and radios blaring. However, this is not the B&B's fault in any way - every hotel can suffer inconsiderate guests!

If we had one grumble with the hotel, it's that the rooms are really showing their age. We understand that loo paper has to be thrown into a bin beside the toilet because there's no sewage pipe on Easter Island, etc, and that everything has to be flown in from the mainland, so it's not as if the owners can just pop up the road to Home Depot or B&Q and buy new things. Buying anything on Easter Island is necessarily more expensive than mainland Chile, so we were prepared for this B&B to be less than perfect. But on the other hand, a lot of the fixtures and fittings, particularly in the bathrooms, were really old and getting mouldy in the corners. This was especially true of the shower doors and floor tiles, which seemed to have been put in by non-experts and were looking old and rather delapidated as a result.

This isn't the place if you want to stay somewhere swanky. But it is a nice, friendly place with good service at a very reasonable price - we paid around $80/night for our stay.

My wife and I are in our mid 30s and stayed 3 nights at the Mana Nui Inn very early Jan 2012. Patricia is wonderful and running the inn and her mother provided fantastic breakfasts every morning for us- each day slightly different but always filling and wonderful!

They helped us arrange a wonderful horseback riding tour as well. The price of their tours were the same else where so you dont have to worry about the hotel making money off of you for this wonderful service.

The inn has several cabanas that were VERY clean and charming. no problems with the hot water or anything else. Having a fan in the room was a wonderful extra as was a refrigerator.

Easter Island is a very magical place and we are so happy we went to visit. I would recommend the Mana Nui Inn to anyone interested.

This place is a gem - located slightly outside of the small town of Hanga Roa (15 min walk), Mana Nui is located just based the cemetery with beautiful landscaping and views of the ocean from your window. We ended up taking the 1 bdrm / 1 bath cabana which was very private, spacious, clean and comfortable - all with a kitchen and wrap around porch!

We fell in love with the little kitty/gatita - Turi who was also happy to see us and with the view from our balcony. The breakfast was also great. Most resorts on Easter Island include airport pick-ups/drop-offs and we were even greeted with a fresh flower necklace.

The Island is stunning - we highly recommend renting 4 wheelers which are great for groups of 2 people to get around the island! We also booked an all day tour through our friends hotel (Hotel Vianny) and it was EXCELLENT - ask for Patricio, who is an excellent guide. full day tour (10 - 7 pm) for about US $60 and provides an excellent introduction to the island that prepares you to explore more yourself during the remaining days on the island.

Room Tip: Ask for the 1 bdrm / 1 bath private cabana
